Day 1

In the morning you leave Barcelona “the capital of Catalonia” behind you. You’ll take the train from Barcelona’s railway station to the small fisherman village of Vilanova. The short train ride is a relaxing start of your first cycling day in Spain. In Vilanova you jump on your bike and leave the heavy traffic roads behind you. The secondary road leads you first to the Foix dam in the backyards of the Catalonian coast. From the impressive Foix dam you continue through the famous Penedès vineyards to your final destination, Sadurni d’Anoia. Here you can find all kinds of cava producing companies. There are over eighties of these wine companies in Sadurni d’Anoia. Total cycling distance 49km - 30 Miles. Climb 475m-1550ft Dinner will be provided. Hotel in Sadurni d’Anoia.

Day 2

Your second cycling day starts with a visit to Freixenet. This cava producer in Sadurni d’Anoia is one of the biggest cava wineries in Spain and world famous. After your visit you keep moving on to Montserrat. You’ll cycle through the beautiful Montserrat massif before you reach the mythic climb to the Montserrat monastery. The climb is only ten kilometres away from Montserrat. On top you will be rewarded with breath taking views. Montserrat has played an important role in the cultural life of Catalonia. There are still living 80 monks, welcoming pilgrims and all kind of other visitors. Total cycling distance 54km - 34 Miles. Climb 1059m-3475ft Dinner will be provided. Hotel in Montserrat.

Day 3

After breakfast you’ll first freewheel downhill to Manresa. The long decent is a relaxing start of the day. From Maresa you head towards the monastery of Pinós. The altitude here is 900 meters above sea level, you will have a magnificent panorama. The views are spectacular and overlooking the Pyrenees and Collsacabra. Relax on top before you cycle the last piece to our hotel in Cardona. In the evening you can wander around in the old ancient town. Don’t miss the local gastronomic products in the historic city centre! Total cycling distance 99km - 61 Miles. Climb 1220m-4000ft Dinner will be provided. Hotel in Cardona.

Day 4

Another lovely cycling day in Spain! Step on your bike in Cardona from here you peddle through lush green mountains towards the stunning Pyrenees. Landscapes will change as you reach a more hilly area. Enjoy the fresh air whilst cycling through the quiet countryside of Catalonia. On your way you can visit the city centre of Berga. Drink an espresso or cappuccino in the old quarter of this typical Catalonian village. The perfectly paved road brings you along the Dam of Baells before you finish in Ripoll for an overnight. Total cycling distance 80km - 50 Miles. Climb 1230m-4406ft Dinner will be provided. Hotel in Ripoll.

Day 5

Today will be a hard day in the saddle! Discover this lovely region on your bike! You’ll cycle through the unspoiled region of the Pyrenees. From Ripoll you pass and climb through typical countryside villages like Beget and Oix. This is riding the Pyrenees on his best! After some 80 kilometres of excellent cycling you reach Olot, the capital of La Garrotxa. The region of Garrotxa contains 40 volcanic cones and it’s a protected National Volcanic park. Total cycling distance 81km - 50 Miles. Climb 1123m-3683ft Dinner will be provided. Hotel in Olot.

Day 6

Unfortunately your last cycling day in Catalonia! Today you’ll cycle through the National Volcanic park of Garrotxa. It’s worthwhile to stop at the biggest natural lake of Catalonia, Lake Banyoles. The lake became famous as the rowing location during the Olympics 1992. Here you already can see a change of landscape terrain. You drop into the flat lands that embrace the city of Girona. The beautiful city of Girona is the end of your cycling holiday in Spain. Immerse the old city of Girona in the evening with its large cobblestone streets and steep stairs. High heels are not recommended! Total cycling distance 97km - 55 Miles. Climb 843m-3227ft Dinner will be provided. Hotel in Girona.

Day 7

Departure day…..Time to say goodbye, a good flight back home or else a pleasant stay in Spain. Transfers to the Airport on request.
