The Food

Your hosts describe their style of food as more Jamie Oliver, less Michelin-starred, and you can therefore expect the finest, freshest ingredients prepared in a relaxed, homely style.

Breakfast is a big buffet affair including warm pasties and baguettes, boiled eggs, hams, cheeses, yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit, fresh juices and tea and coffee.

Afternoon tea is always homemade and you can enjoy homemade treats such as lemon drizzle cake, red velvet cupcakes and good old scones with jam and cream.

Pre-dinner drinks are served before a 3 course evening meal where the style of food is hearty, balanced and international in flavour.

Catered service includes breakfast and afternoon tea every day of your stay; and dinner six out of seven nights of the week.

Sample Menu

  • Cauliflower soup with chilli flakes and olive oil
  • Beef bourguignon
  • Thai curry
  • Raclette cheese and hot-rock grilled meats

Short Breaks

With the short transfer time from Geneva, Pure Alps is great for short breaks. Three/Four night stays are available, generally starting or ending a Sunday. If it’s a late booking, its worth getting in touch to see if there’s any availability on other dates too.

Your Hosts

Sid and Jayne take an enormous amount of pride in running their business, and this ensures you a really high standard of service and facilities. They’ve been in resort for many years so they’re able to recommend tried and tested places to ski, eat and enjoy an après ski beer. This chalet is the result of many years of travelling, planning and building, you’re sure to leave your holiday with 2 new great friends!

Chalet Layout

There’s a large open plan living space on the ground floor of the chalet. The four sets of sliding doors flood the space with natural light.

One section of the room is given over to two mid-century modern styled oak dining tables, seating up to 14 people.

Upstairs, there are 4 enormous en-suite bedrooms. Ceilings reach right up into the apex of the chalet roof, and have distinctive long dangling lampshades to make the most of the space. Each room has access onto a balcony, with a beautiful view of either the mountains or the forest.

Rooms are usually made up as doubles, but two can be re-configured with twin beds if that works better for you.

Each room has an additional single bed (or two), creating a family room perfect for little ones sharing with parents. And leaving plenty of space for a yoga practice in the morning, if that’s your bag.

All the en-suites have a thermostatic-controlled Hansgrohe shower (with a fixed head as well as a moveable shower head), wall-mounted WC, wash-hand basin, and a heated towel-rail.

On the ground floor, there’s a further double bedroom, better suited for those with reduced mobility. The ensuite there is a wet-room, with level access floor.

Key Features

  • Modern, fresh design throughout
  • Large, flexible bedrooms
  • Lovely garden and outdoor space
  • Very friendly, passionate hosts

The ski area offers 265km of downhill skiing and snowboarding and this chalet is right in the heart of the Grand Massif ski area. There’s a lovely combination of tree-lined runs and high bowls, together with great mountain restaurants for lunch and coffee-stops.

Three bubble-lifts up the mountain are less than five minutes drive away: Morillon (2 minutes), Vercland (4 minutes) Grand Massif Express (5 minutes). It’s recommended that you use the Vercland lift, as there’s rarely any queues! It’s where the locals choose to ski from.

Can my hosts help me plan other parts of my holiday?

They’re locals and they’re always on hand. Pre-holiday help includes booking your airport transfers, lift passes, helping you plan your equipment rental and helping with ski lessons.

Can they cater for our dietary requirements?

Absolutely. Just let them know in advance and they’ll prepare dishes that your whole group can enjoy.
