Chalet Layout

There’s a large open plan living space on the ground floor of the chalet. The four sets of sliding doors flood the space with natural light.

One section of the room is given over to two mid-century modern styled oak dining tables, seating up to 14 people.

Upstairs, there are 4 enormous en-suite bedrooms. Ceilings reach right up into the apex of the chalet roof, and have distinctive long dangling lampshades to make the most of the space. Each room has access onto a balcony, with a beautiful view of either the mountains or the forest.

Rooms are usually made up as doubles, but two can be re-configured with twin beds if that works better for you.

Each room has an additional single bed (or two), creating a family room perfect for little ones sharing with parents. And leaving plenty of space for a yoga practice in the morning, if that’s your bag.

All the en-suites have a thermostatic-controlled Hansgrohe shower (with a fixed head as well as a moveable shower head), wall-mounted WC, wash-hand basin, and a heated towel-rail.

On the ground floor, there’s a further double bedroom, better suited for those with reduced mobility. The ensuite there is a wet-room, with level access floor.

The ski area offers 265km of downhill skiing and snowboarding and this chalet is right in the heart of the Grand Massif ski area. There’s a lovely combination of tree-lined runs and high bowls, together with great mountain restaurants for lunch and coffee-stops.

Three bubble-lifts up the mountain are less than five minutes drive away: Morillon (2 minutes), Vercland (4 minutes) Grand Massif Express (5 minutes). It’s recommended that you use the Vercland lift, as there’s rarely any queues! It’s where the locals choose to ski from.

Fabulous chalet- is much bigger than photos suggest. Wonderful food and service. A glass of fizz served to us in the hot tub was a real treat

Magical. My week at Pure Alps was my first experience of the Alps in the summer. The stylish chalet was a perfect place to appreciate and then experience everything that the beautiful Giffre Valley has to offer. The views of the landscape and skies are stunning and the chalet owners are extremely helpful in suggesting walks, rides, places to eat etc. so that we could get the most out of the mountain environment. The chalet is generous in every respect - spacious, light-filled, with an interesting library and great food. The guest rooms are huge and quiet and thoughtfully prepared. The weather was lovely during our stay and we sat outside most of the time, looking across to the mountains and up into the trees behind. Magica

Wonderful chalet and hospitality. I stayed in Jayne and Sid's beautiful new chalet for a week with a group of friends for the Tour de France. The chalet has been lovingly built and fitted out, and it shows - the décor is modern but comfortable, with lots of personal touches. The bedrooms are large and the beds comfy, each with their own en suite (and lovely rainfall showers!) There's also an accessible bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. The chalet is well positioned for the lifts up from Morillion and Samoens, so great for summer walking as well as the ski season. We did some really nice walks that were easily accessible by foot or a short drive - along the Giffre river, Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval, up the Col de Joux Plane and through the forest into Samoens town centre. It's a good base for seeing the whole of the Giffre valley, which is stunning, though you will need a car to make the most of it.
We took the catered option for the week and the food was excellent. A range of local fare and some dishes from further afield if you get fed up of cheese - Thai curry anyone? Jayne and Sid are very friendly hosts, but they'll let you get on with your own thing too. We'll definitely be going back in the winter!

Fantastic Alpine Getaway. We stayed here in July to catch the Tour de France which was going through the local village. It's a beautiful, newly built chalet with comfortable accommodation and stunning views. Our hosts were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and the home cooked food was good and plentiful. The large living room was big enough to accommodate two groups of guests, and eating at the long wooden table on the veranda made dinner extra special.Thoroughly recommend if you're looking for a relaxing retreat in the Alps.

Will definitely be back - again and again. This new, family run chalet is situated in a beautiful setting with breathtaking views and is still in very close proximity to amenities - in Morillion and Samoens. Our group of six shared the chalet with another group of four (plus an 18mnth old) and there was plenty of room for us all - both private and communal. Our hosts, Jayne and Sid, were easy and laid back and helped to create a comfortable environment in which the two groups got to know each other and meal times were full of chatter and fun. The meals themselves were generous and hearty - and with many of the produce either grown in their own vegetable garden, or sourced from local farmers. Our room was large and comfortable - with the best pillows I have had the pleasure of sleeping on! The shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water - no matter how many guests were using water at the same time. Despite it being summer, we used the hot tub on some of the cooler evenings after long, hot walks up the mountains - and then enjoyed socialising around the cosy fire pit. Overall, this was a great visit and we will definitely be back - to enjoy the home grown produce, friendly hospitality and beautiful surroundings!

Fantastic Views. Had a wonderful 5 nights with Jayne & Sid in their new chalet. Great hosts & showed us some of the best sites around Samoens. Their hospitality was exceptional with the added benefits of a fire pit BBQ & hot tub!

Pure Pleasure Relaxing and rejuvenating. Jayne and Sid our hosts were welcoming and laid back, creating a warm and open atmosphere for our stay. Our room was really spacious and quiet with a great en-suit. The whole chalet was beautifully furnished in a contemporary style with all the mod cons. The area was beautiful, we were mostly walking as it was spring, but we love the out of season feel and the sceneary was stuning. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Fantastic chalet. Beautiful area, lovely hosts, great food. Awesome.

By Ruth on 04/03/2016 who travelled in March, 2016

The warmest of welcomes in the coolest of chalets. It is hard to describe just how perfect the balance is between the warmth and sparkle of Jayne and Sid's welcome, and the stylish mid-century chic of the chalet they have lovingly designed and curated. Everything has been thought through so carefully - from the kitchen equipment (we self-catered), the quality mattresses and bed linen, the bounteous provision of hot water in luxurious showers, and the chest full of games and puzzles. Not to mention the book shelves so full of intriguing literature that you could almost curl up on the sofa with a large glass of vino and forget to venture forth into the beautiful surrounds.

The chalet is HUGE. As a lively party of 14 we much enjoyed the living space (plenty of room for playing the cereal packet game and building human pyramids, oh yes), and easily fitted around the huge tables for our meals. Jayne couldn't have been more helpful - adjusting the bed layout etc to match our idiosyncratic requirements, and furnishing us with all sorts of useful tips for local shopping, eating, ski hire etc. Jayne's eye for design has ensured a chalet that feels exquisite, but is also totally practical, even with a hoard of children in tow. I shall stop gushing now because otherwise you'll all be booking and we'll never get to return.

Morillon and Samoans between them had an array of fun Easter activities to join in with, and both offer a beautiful, old-fashioned alpine charm. The skiing was fun - varied and plenty for everyone of all levels. I'd love to come back in the summer and see the 'other alps'.

By Harry on 01/03/2016 who travelled in March, 2016

Lovely area, wonderful chalet run by lovely people. We had a wonderful time at Pure Alps. The chalet is very comfortable, with great food and lots of space to relax. The Grand Massif has loads to offer which is great as we were a group of mixed ability. The (very long) Cascades run is particularly beautiful and worth doing if it's open. There are also lots of nice shops and restaurants in nearby Samoens.

By Clare on 19/02/2016 who travelled in February, 2016

We stayed at Jayne and Sid's beautiful chalet between 15th - 18th February, Jayne had really helped us out of a difficult situation as the chalet we had booked, via Air BNB, cancelled our booking 3 weeks before our trip! The chalet is in a great location just 5 mins drive from the lift near La Reposette restaurant, up to Samoens 1600. It's incredibly spacious, warm, modern and clean. Jayne has also put some lovely touches to the chalet which makes it feel very homely. It has all the mod cons, oven, microwave, dish washer etc and plenty of space for parking. Jayne is also very helpful, it's super easy to find, however we did get lost (!) and Jayne came and met us at the local supermarket and guided us back to the chalet, which was 5 mins away! We definitely would stay again, Jayne is incredibly friendly and leaves you to get on with your holiday, but is on hand when you need her for anything.

By Stefan on 16/01/2016 who travelled in January, 2016

Fantastic spacious chalet in lovely ski area. We had a lovely stay in this fabulously spacious new chalet. Jayne and Sid were very welcoming relaxed hosts. The food and wine flowed, the living area was very comfortable for relaxing in the evening - and for our 'whiteout stay-at-home day'. Plans for additions to the chalet sound exciting too: sauna and cinema room in the basement! We'll be back to enjoy the great ski area and this impressive chalet.

By Cath on 10/12/2015 who travelled in December, 2015

We stayed with Jayne and Sid over Christmas and had a fantastic time. The chalet was still "work in progress" at the time, but promised to be spectacular once completed. Jayne and Sid were excellent hosts, with lots of helpful suggestions for our first family skiing holiday. As vegetarians, we don't always find it easy to eat well in France - not a problem here!
