The Plan

This Tour de France long weekend gives you the chance to watch the action unfold right in front of you.

Our spectator day offers you fantastic road side seats in a unique position, to watch the Tour in all its glory, with plenty of food, drinks and a TV to watch all the action before it arrives at our ‘live’ spectator location.

This will all be set up for you on the mountain side very close to the stage finish. You can really make the most of the mountain-side Tour party atmosphere and try and grab some Tour de France souvenirs from the caravan precession before watching the pro riders ride past.

The 2016 TDF route has been announced and the Alpine stages this year are suitably mountainous, exciting and will no doubt be where the Tour winner is decided.

During the long weekend we will take you cycling over cols a few days before the Tour de France arrives so you are able to ride the cols and enjoy the pre-tour festivities lining the side of the road. Cycling these climbs just before the tour de France is a truly special experience.

Day 1: Thursday

Collection from Geneva airport, transport to your chalet base for the weekend in Saint Gervais les Bains. Build our bikes and possibly take a short test ride along the valley to get those legs warmed up and see some beautiful Alpine views.

Day 2: Friday

Friday is spectator day.

With todays TDF stage finishing very close to our chalet, we have the morning to get out on the bikes and ride some of the roads that the pro’s will be riding just hours later.

The experience of riding on these roads on Tour day is very cool, with minimal traffic and crowds lining the roads, cheering you on!

The afternoon will then be spent watching the tour unfold live on the television before watching the riders live on the roadside with plenty of refreshments and of course grabbing some tour memorabilia from the pre Tour caravan!

By watching the tour close to the finish there is a real party atmosphere, and also a chance to see or even meet some of the riders post ride as our guests managed to last year, getting signed jerseys, hats and brilliant memories!

Day 3: Saturday

We finish the weekend with a jolly over into Italy - why not!

Being so close to the border its an easy transfer through the Mont Blanc Tunnel to ride the stunning Col du Petit Saint Bernard which tops out at 2188m.

With a nice warm up and a 12.5km climb up to the Italian/ French border atop the Col where a coffee stop in one of the mountain cafes to enjoy the views is a must. The Col du Petit Saint Bernard has featured several times in the Tour de France with its first appearance in 1949!

Day 4: Sunday

Depending on your flight time there is a possibility to sneak in a cheeky ride before we transfer you back to Geneva airport at the end of a memorable weekend of cycling in the Alps.

Accommodation

Our beautiful chalet is based in Saint Gervais les Bains. We provide you with all meals including breakfast, lunch and a three course evening meal with wine & beer.

Location

Head to stunning town of Annecy to ride along the edge of its beautiful blue waters and tackle a tough little col, high above lake Annecy, the Col de La Forclaz Montmin which features in this years Tour de France.

You will be able to take on the beautiful, local Col des Aravis which offers amazing views of Mont Blanc, at 1486m high it will feature in this years TDF on stage 20 and has appeared in the TDF at least 39 times since its debut in 1947. Combined with the Col de la Colombiere.

TDF stage is finishing very close to the chalet so you will be watching the most interesting part of their journey. The experience of riding on these roads on Tour day is very cool, with minimal traffic and crowds lining the roads, cheering you on!
