There is the flexibility to join the other guests on rides as you wish, with dozens of classic cols to tackle straight from the chalet door. You can hire a vehicle to take you further afield for a day or two if desired.

Day 1, Sunday. Get there.

  • Grab a flight to Geneva.
  • You’ll be met for the 2 hour transfer to the chalet.
  • Settle in to the chalet, meet the other guests, enjoy a sunny drink on the terrace before a delicious evening meal together.

Day 2, Monday. Free ride.

  • Enjoy a hearty fresh breakfast before setting out into the mountains.
  • Join up with other guests or do your own thing. There are many classic high altitude climbs accessible straight from the door, including the Courmet de Roseland, Col de la Madeleine, and the Col de l’Iseran.
  • Route notes and advice will be provided by your bike host, and vehicle rescue pick up if needed.
  • You are free to enjoy the beautiful mountain setting as you wish - hiking, wandering along the river and relaxing in the sun all encouraged!

Day 3, Tuesday. Ride tour stage 19.

  • Choose to either ride the whole route Albertville to St Gervais (146km), or do the beautiful and slightly easier first part including stunning Lake Annecy (Albertville to Villard-Sur-Doron, 83km). This includes Col de la Forclaz (10.2 kilometres at 6.5%) and Col de Forclaz Quiege (5.4 kilometres climb at 8%).
  • Those with the energy can carry on to try the new route up Montee de Bisanne (12.4 kilometres at 8.2%) and back to Villard-Sur-Doron.
  • Transfer back to the chalet for a well earned, hearty meal on the terrace and a good sleep.

Day 4, Thursday. Free ride.

  • Enjoy another leisurely breakfast, and head out for a ride if you want.
  • If you are feeling good after yesterday, tackle another of the classic cols nearby.
  • You have the option to hire van transport and support if desired.

Day 5, Friday. Watch stage 19.

  • After breakfast we will head over to Les Saisies (1hr 15mins).
  • You have a choice of riding up the Montee Bisanne from behind to watch the Tour come up it for the first ever time, or carrying on down into the beautiful town of Megeve (25km) if you wish. Either way, the colorful atmosphere will be one to remember forever.
  • Return to the chalet in the evening for another three course evening meal with wine and beer included in the evening.

Day 6, Saturday. Ride.

  • Relax in the sun on the terrace, head out for a ride or a wander along the river to Bourg St Maurice if you are feeling lazy.
  • You could tackle another of the classic cols nearby, Col de la Madeline perhaps?
  • Enjoy a final meal together on the terrace.

Day 4, Sunday. Head home.

  • Depending when you have booked your flight for, there may be time to fit in another ride before your transfer back to Geneva.

Location

Climb a different col every day, mixing and matching ride lengths, altitude and gradients according to your appetite and stamina. The chalet is in a fabulous spot for riders looking for challenging hill climbs and ascents. There are many classic high altitude climbs accessible straight from the door, including the Courmet de Roseland, Col de la Madeleine, and the Col de l’Iseran, as well as lesser known ones such as Notre Dame du Pre and La Plagne. As an added bonus, our luxury cycling chalet is in the valley, so you ride out and return along the flat each day.

We are 1km from the riverside bike path to the lively town of Bourg St Maurice (7km), with riverside cafes and restaurants en route. There’s also a bar and restaurant in the village, and a corner shop.

The chalet is also in 1-2 hours drive of other famous cols including Alp d’Huez, Forclaz, Glandon, Aravis, and Galibier. A vehicle and driver can be booked if you would like to go further afield for a day.
