Sure can! A lot of people do, it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.

Our Epic Weekends are very social in nature and we’ve seen lots of new friendships born out of them. Expect a mix of solo travelers and very small groups of 2 or 3, all with a shared appreciation of escaping the city for the great outdoors to try something new and meet new people.

You don’t need any previous kayaking or hiking experience, but you do need to be able to ride a bike. Your guide will give you full instructions and a safety briefing at the start. You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness to handle approx 4-5 hours of hilly cycling, sea kayaking and hiking over uneven terrain.

Croatian cuisine is diverse and delicious. Popular meals include charcuterie, meat and vegetable stews, gnocchi, sweet potato dumplings, and cottage cheese with sour cream. Meat is typically chicken or veal. You’ll find Mediterranean food and seafood in abundance on the islands.

Spring and fall temperatures range from 10 – 35 °C with roughly 10 days of rain per month. Summer is hot with temperatures ranging from 18 – 38 °C and just 4 - 7 days of rain per month. You can expect a lot of sun in Croatia!

All your kayaking and cycling equipment will be provided for you, so no need to worry about that! For the rest of your weekend in Croatia, we recommend you bring:

  • Lightweight, breathable shirts and trousers/shorts
  • Hiking shoes
  • Sandals or other shoes that can get wet

Location

Split
This eternally young city has enjoyed its urban rhythm for 1700 years. Located in the warmest part of the northern Mediterranean coast, Split is the perfect base for exploring the nearby islands. With Diocletian’s Palace at its heart, the historical centre of the city has earned a UNESCO World Heritage listing. Many valuable cultural monuments are located in the centre, including forts, churches and museums waiting to be explored. After sunset the wealth of restaurants and bars tucked away on cobbled streets come alive.

Hvar
A short ferry ride from Split lies Hvar, the longest island in the Adriatic. This is an island of vineyards, olive groves, lavender and ancient (sometimes abandoned) villages. The port city of Hvar is the cosmopolitan hub of the island, a captivating fusion of fading Venetian glamour, luxurious Mediterranean scenery and rich cultural and historical heritage. Hvar is an inexhaustible treasure trove of scenery, atmosphere and adventure.

Brac
Brac is the largest island of the central Dalmatian group. This unique island has a rich cultural and historical heritage that dates back to prehistoric times. You’ll discover fairy-tale villages cut into limestone hills, and beautiful beaches and bays—some say the most beautiful in Croatia. The crystal blue sea and easy hospitality of the local people is a combination that you won’t forget.
