Friday: Kayaking on Skadar Lake

Grab your swimsuit and head to Skadar Lake for a day of fun on the water! After a safety brief and a quick introduction to kayaking, you’ll embark on a 4-hour guided trip around the lake. More than just paddling, you’ll have plenty of time to swim in the clear water, explore the freshwater beaches, and check out the little towns and cafes that dot the shores. Keep an eye out for schools of beautiful and harmless freshwater jellyfish! Finish off the afternoon by checking out the town of Virpazar, then head back to Bar for dinner at your hotel.

Saturday: Canyoning in Medjurecje Canyon

Drive a short distance from Bar to Medjurecje Canyon, a beautiful and less-explored canyon of stunning beauty. A safety brief and introduction to the equipment will prepare you for the adventure, then head into the canyon for the experience of a lifetime. Scramble and swim through ravines and gorges as you navigate the length of the canyon. You’ll abseil down several 15-30 m waterfalls, swim rivers and pools, and hike among water-carved rocks. Six hours later, emerge to return to Bar for dinner.

Sunday: Checkout and return to Podgorica Airport

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel before checking out and driving back to the airport to fly home.

You will stay at a comfortable guesthouse in the Old Town area of Bar. Rooms feature ensuite bathrooms, balconies overlooking the nearby fortress, and free wifi. The guesthouse has a restaurant onsite serving local and international cuisine; half board (breakfast and dinner) is included.

Bar is a coastal town with a rich history. A medieval monastery, a Venetian-era fort, and a 16th Century aqueduct still stand in the area. Bar’s Old Town is full of cute shops and traditional restaurants and bar. It’s perfectly situated to access the nearby wonders of Skadar Lake and Medjurecje Canyon.

Skadar Lake is the largest lake on the Balkans Peninsula. It is home to 34 fish species and the shore teems with 270 bird species. The lake’s pale beaches and crystal-blue waters are everything you imagine Montenegro to be. Medjurecje Canyon is remote and not heavily visited. Full of hidden waterfalls, cascading vines, swimming holes and natural water slides, this canyon is perfect for your canyoning adventure.
