What to Expect

The Plan

Day 1: Pickup and Husky Experience

You’ll be picked up in Tromso at 18:15 and taken half an hour away to meet the dogs. Warm clothing is provided so you can play with the dogs without messing up your own clothes. A knowledgeable guide will introduce you to the experienced sled dogs as well as the brand new puppies, and answer all your questions about training sled dogs. You’ll also have the option of watching some short films about dog sledding and the famous Iditarod dog sled race in Alaska.

Next you’ll head out on a guided nature hike across the tundra with some of the dogs. Their excitement and energy will make it a hike to remember! Afterwards, head back to camp to relax on reindeer hides around a campfire. Hot drinks and a traditional Sami meal will be provided while you keep an eye out for the magnificent Northern Lights to begin their show. When you’re tired, head to bed in a cozy Sami tent.

Day 2: Breakfast and Return to Tromso

A hot breakfast will tempt you out of bed in the morning. You’ll have a chance to say goodbye to the dogs before heading back to Tromso. You’ll arrive back in town around 10:00.
