Winter Courses

29th January – 5th February – Introduction/Intermediate Off-Piste instruction & guided week

5th March – 12th March – Intermediate/Advanced Off-Piste instruction & guided week

Price: €1,540

A special week created by the team that run Action Outdoors (UCPA UK). We are aiming at two groups of two levels per week to allow a small group of Off-Piste skiers to enjoy the very best skiing around the Chamonix Valley in addition to improve your skills and technique in various terrain and snow conditions.

The key to a successful week is flexibility

We have maximum of 6 clients guide/instructor ratio with our own transport to take you around France, Italy and Switzerland in search for the best snow. Uniquely for this program we have 5 guided days from 6 skiing days. We will decide during the week which days will be guided - this means we can choose the program by the weather and snow conditions. We strike a balance between instruction & guiding - very flexible and agreed between the group and our lead guide.

What’s Included

  • 7 nights accommodation in double or twin room
  • Delicious breakfast each morning - fruit, yogurt, cereal, porridge, eggs, cheese, ham etc
  • 6 nights 3 course dinner with wine
  • 5 days of guided skiing with IFMGA guide
  • Use of Off piste equipment – shovel, probe, transceiver
  • 6 days MBU lift pass (Chamonix, Courmayeur & Verbier)

Lead Guide/Instructor

Seb Cazorla - UAIGM High Mountain Guide & Full Diplome French Ski Instructor. Seb has been teaching skiing for 20 years and has been guiding for 9 years and is only 41 years young. He has an amazing ability to improve our skiing by just making tiny changes to body movements.

Off-Piste Introduction

You need to be skiing red runs in controled parallel turns and you are able to handle black runs.

Off-Piste Intermediate

You will have previous experience of Off-Piste skiing and you can link turns on moderate terrain. You find it harder to link turns in steep slopes, or in icy / crusty conditions and would like to improve in these areas.

Off-Piste Advanced

You’ve been skiing Off-Piste for many years and can ski fast with good control on moderate slopes. You are comfortable on steeper slopes and you would like to be challenged. You don’t mind hiking or touring to reach the best slopes.

Location back to top

View map

The chalet is set back from Route des Pelerins, a quiet, tranquil part of Chamonix with stunning views of both Mont Blanc and the Aiguille du Midi. Despite the peaceful surroundings the Chalet is only a pleasant 15 minute walk from Place Balmat (the very centre of Chamonix).

All five Chamonix ski areas are easily accessible from the chalet using the local Chamonix bus service. Line 2 which services the route between neighboring village Les Bossons and the furthest ski area, Le Tour, stops opposite the hospital, which is only 50 meters from the chalet. The Line 2 bus runs every 30 minutes between 06:30am and 8:00pm Monday to Saturday, all year round. During the season the bus runs once an hour on Sundays and bank holidays. Line 2 will take you to the ski areas in Les Praz/Flegere, Argentière and Le Tour.

To get to Brevent ski area you will have to take Line 14 from Chamonix Sud.

In order to encourage people to take the bus and make your trips in the valley easier, the use of Chamonix Bus is completely free (except Chamo’Nuit and special buses).

The nearest bar (800 meters) is the “Jeckyll” – always a nice atmosphere, great selections of beers and good food. The nearest restaurant is the excellent “l’Impossible” and is next door to the Jeckyll.

The main bakery of Chamonix “Fournil Chamoniard” is just 3 mins walk away. It opens from 6:00am so you can get your baguettes & croissants – be warned though, the cake selection is highly addictive!
