The Peloponnese is a large peninsula in southern Greece separated from the mainland by the Gulf of Corinth. The region features in countless Greek myths, and it’s easy to see why: the landscape is a complex jumble of snowcapped mountains, beautiful beaches, and rushing rivers. Two of these rivers, the Lousios and Neda, have carved deep gorges through the peninsula.

The region isn’t heavily touristed, and famous Greek hospitality is alive and well. You’ll be charmed by the friendliness of the locals in Dimitsana, a tiny mountain village (population: 342) with impressive views south over the Megalopolois Plain and Mount Taygetus.

During the summer season, the rafting is classified as grade 2. During spring and autumn, the water level raises, letting the rapids increase to grade 3.

The climate in the Peloponnese is Mediterranean. Summer temperatures average 25 °C, and winters cool down to about 13 °C. Days are generally clear and sunny, especially in the summer when there’s very little chance of rain.

Greek food is fresh and flavorful. Common dishes include Greek salad, moussaka (kind of like lasagna), souvlaki (meat skewers served on a platter or in a wrap), and dolmades (stuffed grape leaves). Breakfasts are typically light, with fresh fruit, olives, and yogurt providing the staples.

Absolutely! Just let us know at booking.
