Charming and beautiful Prague is one of the top destinations in Europe, boasting impressive historical sites along with a thriving music, dining and cultural scene.

Much of the city escaped WWII without damage, and now the historical city center is one of the best-preserved examples of Medieval architecture in Europe. Bridges, cathedrals and gold-topped churches make up the skyline. The peaceful and scenic Vltava riverfront is a wonderful place to stroll.

Outside Prague the countryside is full of small towns, green spaces, rivers, forests, and castles. One such castle, Karlstejn, is the most famous and beautiful in the Czech Republic. The castle was built by the great monarch Charles IV to protect the crown jewels, state archives and library from the fury of the Hussites.

Sure can! A lot of people do, and it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.

This trip will run with a minimum of 4 people, and a maximum of 8. Please note, if there are not 2 people booked the trip may be rearranged or cancelled.

Most Czech meals start with a soup such as chicken noodle, garlic, or cabbage soup.

Main courses are mostly meat-based, and pork is especially common. Meats may be roasted, baked or stewed, and served as a goulash, in a pastry, or with dumplings. Side dishes are often root vegetables like potatoes.

Of course, Czech beer is always available. The region is known for pale lagers and pilsners with lighter flavours. The Czech Republic has the highest rate of beer consumption per capita in the world!

Meals will be eaten at restaurants. Vegetarian options are reasonably easy to find, but vegans may have difficulty finding well-rounded meals.

Definitely not. Though the first day is spent biking to a brewery, it’s more about the trip than the destination. The brewery also serves plenty of non-alcoholic beverages. Even better, if you don’t drink you have the option of biking back to Prague instead of taking the train!

This trip is recommended for active travelers who bike at least occasionally. The day trips are easy and casual. Pace will be determined by the slowest member of the group, and there’s no rush to get anywhere.

Prague experiences all four seasons. In spring and fall temperatures typically range from 3 – 19 °C, while in summer it heats up to 11 – 25 °C. It rains an average of 40mm per month in the spring and fall, and 70mm per month in the summer, with rain falling less than a third of the days each month.

Bike rental is included, along with a helmet, water, small backpack, rain coat, gel seat pad and gloves. The bikes are the highest quality available to rent in Prague and are very well maintained. They are trekking style bikes with the capabilities of a mountain bike plus the smooth efficiency of a road bike so you can ride everywhere.
