Itinerary

Thursday: Krvavec

As you arrive at the airport, your host will be waiting and ready to take you to your first ski resort; Krvavec. It's only a 20-minute drive from the airport so you can be on the slopes within an hour of stepping off the plane.

When you get to resort, you will receive your equipment if needed, but otherwise, you can get going. Your luggage will be safe in your transfer vehicle while you are skiing. Krvavec is a nice balance of greens and blues for beginners with some good reds and blacks for advanced skiers.

In the afternoon, once you're ready to go, your host will transfer you to your hotel in the center of Ljubljana where you can check in and have dinner.

Friday: Kanin-Sella Nevea

It's an early start to get to the ski resort, as your transfer will pick you up at 8:00. Kanin – Sella Nevea offers skiers and snowboarders a true "without borders" feeling of this joint Slovenia-Italian resort. Large amounts of natural snow and excellent snow conditions allow the ski season to expand till the end of April or beginning of May. At 2500m above the sea level this is the highest Slovenian ski resort. You get to admire the incredible views over the Adriatic sea whilst enjoying 30km of slopes. Most of the slopes are more suitable for experienced skiers, however both sides of the ski area also offer flatter terrain for beginners.

You will depart from the resort at 16:00 which would give you plenty of ski time. You will have a free evening in Ljubljana to check out the sights, restaurants or bars.

Saturday: Kranjska Gora

On day three of skiing, you'll head to Kranjska Gora. This may be a small village, but its après ski is anything but.

With 19 runs from green to black, you can make the most of your day on the snow or kick back in the bars.

You will leave Kranjska Gora around 16:00 and head back to your hotel for your last night. This calls for some celebratory beers!

Sunday: Cerkno

Your transfer will pick you up from the hotel at 08:30 and take you to your fourth ski resort in four days; Cerkno.

Saving the best 'till last, Cerkno has the most modern and safest skiing facilities in Slovenia, with a mixture of blue, red and black runs, making it the perfect resort for all levels of skier.

At 16:00, you'll be taken back to the airport in time for your evening flight home.

Please note that this trip does not have the usual social nature as other experiences on Much Better Adventures. This arrangement takes care of all logistics and hassle before and after the slopes, however, while skiing there is no guide who will lead the group and therefore participants are given any freedom to ski by themselves.

Please Note

All our adventures take place in wild places. Things can go wrong in wild places. Your perfectly planned itinerary may change a bit (or a lot) if the weather turns, someone gets hurt, or a volcano erupts. Usually though, changes make it all the better.

Accommodation

You will be staying in the 3-star Hotel Emonec in Ljubljana, in one of the finest central locations in the capital. Ljubljana’s famed Presern Square and the old city are just outside of the doors, with most of the city's other attractions just minutes away.

The hotel is family-owned and completely renovated in 2015. All rooms are en-suite, with towels provided every day. There is also complimentary LED SAT TV, internet and a safety deposit box in each room. The hotel comes equipped with a spa, gym, sauna and self-service laundry facility.

Accommodation is based on a twin room basis. For solo travellers looking for their own space, an optional private room can be booked from €62 per person (subject to availability). Please request this at the time of booking.

Location

The Krvavec ski area is the second-largest ski resort in Slovenia with 30km of ski slopes. It is only a 20-minute drive from Ljubljana and 7 more minutes as you take the gondola to the top.

Kanin-Sella Nevea is a joint Slovenian-Italian ski resort, and is also the highest Slovenian resort, whose top reaches 2300m above sea level. The two connected resorts offer 30 km of slopes with different levels. You approach the resort from the Italian side and then ski over to the Slovenian to appreciate the sea views from the top.

The Cerkno ski resort is situated boundary of the Gorenjska and Primorje regions. The winter sports area is between 935m and 1,287m in altitude, with 18km of pistes, making it one of the smaller ski resorts.

Kranjska Gora is a beautiful, small resort with the spectacular surroundings of the Julian Alps. This resort sits just a few kilometres from both the Austrian and Italian borders and it has some infamous après ski in the village. It has a total of 30km of ski slopes, 40km of tracks for cross-country skiing and even a snow park for freestylers.
