Sure can! A lot of people do, and it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.

Much Better Adventures are very social in nature and we’ve seen lots of new friendships born out of them. Expect a mix of solo travellers and very small groups of 2 or 3, all with a shared appreciation of escaping the city for the great outdoors to try something new and meet new people.

As you will be snowshoeing for up to 7hours each day, you will need a moderate level of fitness. But don’t worry, your guide will be with you at all times and help you during any rough parts. Besides that, the trip is absolutely beginner friendly.

All food is local and freshly cooked, hearty mountain meals. These include domestic cheese and other local milk products, dry meat specialities, fish, local fruit, and vegetable. While breakfasts, lunches and dinners are included, the drinks are not.

Absolutely! Just let us know when you book on to this adventure.

We’ve teamed up with the guys at World Nomads to offer insurance designed for adventurous travellers across 140 countries that includes overseas medical, evacuation, baggage and a range of adventure sports and activities. To get yours sorted, click here.

The average temperature in Bosnian mountains during the winter ranges from -8°C to 4°C, but it can drop even to -30°C or raise over 10°C. More often than not, even when it’s cold, the days are often sunny with beautiful blue skies. There is an average of 60cm of snow cover of 60cm on the mountain valley.

In case of foggy weather or other conditions involving high risk, your guide might change the plan and take you to the forest trails or one of the local villages on the other side of the mountain.

No problem! If you would rather ski than snowshoe, there are some beautiful tracks near your hotel. If you need to rent ski equipment, there is a place across from the hotel.

Location

Sarajevo is the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This metropolitan city has been the capital city under the longest siege in the history of modern warfare. However, today, it has been restored and is full of beautiful restaurants, cafes and the Olympic city of the 1984 Winter Olympic Games.

Bjelasnica, or the White Mountain as it is lovingly called, is world famous for holding Winter Olympic Games in 1984. Devastated by a siege in 1992, the Bjelasnica ski resort has been re-opened with new ski facilities and now boasts amazing white landscapes and a 2000m high ridge with spectacular views.
