Day 1
Settle in
Check into your agriturismo (guesthouse on a working farm), relax and spend the afternoon exploring the area at your own pace. Sunbathe by the pool or take a self-guided hike to Monte Doglia, then sit down in the evening for a delicious dinner of home-cooked Sardinian food and wine while you get to know your fellow paddlers.
Day 2
Take to the water
Kayaking
Review your equipment and then head out onto the Mediterranean and an area rich in marine life – the Porto Conte Regional Park. Paddle past the towering sea cliffs and caves of the famous Capo Caccia and stop for lunch on the sand at Cala di Inferno. Take some time to snorkel, sunbathe and swim, then continue your journey to Cala di Dragonera where you'll get the chance to try some refreshing ice cream or cold brew. Return to your agriturismo and unwind with a glass of wine, before sitting down to another tasty, home-cooked Sardinian meal.
Day 3
Punta Negra
Kayaking
Explore a remarkable seascape of cliffs, caves and wave-carved arches as you paddle through the unbelievably blue waters today. You'll stop at a quiet beach for lunch and some more swimming – the beaches of Cala di la Donne and Abra Massa are particularly good for snorkelling. Be sure to build up an appetite, as there's more delicious food and wine to tuck into in the evening.
Day 4
The wild west coast
Kayaking
Follow the stunning shoreline of Sardinia’s wild west coast. Swim, snorkel or just chill out, then celebrate the end of an amazing few days with drinks and live music at the Melting Pot Beach Bar on Lido Beach, or at Il Baretto on Porto Ferro Beach.

After breakfast, head back to the airport and your flight home with plenty of pictures and stories to share with your friends.

What is the food like?
As it's also a working farm, your agriturismo produces their own vegetables, olives and fruit, as well as raising a wide-variety of livestock. These ingredients make it onto the dinner table each night in fresh, delicious Sardinian meals, served in platters of antipasti, pasta dishes, vegetables and meats to share at each table. Typical items include focaccia, pizza, salad, gnocchi, ravioli, wild boar, suckling pig, seasonal vegetables, sheep’s milk cheese and desserts. Local wine is included with dinner. While sea kayaking, you’ll have a packed picnic lunch with fresh fruit, a sandwich, snacks and a drink.
As most meals are prepared and served to share, please contact your host to ensure any dietary requirements you may have can be catered for.
What is the accommodation like?
Agriturismo
You’ll be staying in twin (or double on request) rooms at either Agriturismo Agave or in Agriturismo Barbagia. Both are located just outside Alghero, and are still operated as small family businesses. They are both working home farms and feature ensuite rooms, air-con, WiFi, a large veranda, a sun terrace, and a wine cellar stocked with local wines. Both kitchens create amazing meals from ingredients produced on the farm.
Upgrades
For solo travellers looking for their own space, an optional private room can be booked for an extra charge, see Optional Extras for the price. Please request this at the time of booking (this is subject to availability)

Transfers
Your adventure begins any time on Day 1 at the agriturismo (the exact one will be confirmed by your host before departure). If you arrive in time, you will meet your fellow adventurers at the agriturismo at 20:00 for dinner on Day 1. Book any flight which works for your travel plans. The closest airport is Alghero Airport (AHO) and this is recommended by your host.
Transfers are not included, but your host can either arrange a taxi transfer to the agriturismo for you in advance or if you prefer to take your own when you arrive, there are plenty available outside. It is only a 10-minute taxi ride to your accommodation.
If you’re not able to fly into Alghero Airport on Day 1, you could book an extra night or two and enjoy some sightseeing in Alghero. While your host is unable to book pre-trip accommodation for you, they would be very happy to offer suggestions according to your needs and often recommend staying in or near to Alghero's old town.
You are free to depart anytime on Day 5, again you'll just need a quick taxi to the airport which your host can help you to organise.
Travel options
There are regular flights to Alghero from airports across the UK and Europe (some with connections in Bologna, Milan, Bordeaux or Madrid). It’s often easier to search for two single flights rather than a return.
While there are direct flights from the UK into Olbia, it's recommended to arrive early and to set off for Alghero no later than lunchtime if opting for this route, as it can take at least three hours to travel from Olbia on the east coast to Alghero on the west coast via train and/or bus. Taxis charge in the region of €200.
If you have any questions about your flights and transfers, please contact your host and they will be able to help out!

I loved it and everything is cool.
The entire experience is awesome and cool.
Everything is awesome!
I really love the entire experienced!
Great trip!
Excellent trip, really well organised and thought out. Our guide Clarke was calm, friendly and added so much value to the tour. He even took us wine tasting. The equipment was all good quality and Clarke had spares of everything. We had 1 day where the water was too choppy so we didn't Kayak, which was a shame. But no one's fault! The sea in early April was very cold but still enjoyable as it was very hot and sunny most the time.
Excellent trip
Really well thought out trip with Clark. Very much enjoyed. Our group did two days kayaking as the weather on the third day was unsuitable but Clark gave us lots of other options for the third day - we settled on a walk and a wine tasting (v good. Would recommend!) The food was excellent too and very accommodating for my dietary needs (gluten free). All round a great trip and and great group. Thank you!
This was without doubt my favourite holiday to date. I loved every minute off it - the time on the water, exploring caves and cliffs, stopping for lunch every day at a different beach. The accomodation and food was subperb. I'd highly recommend this.
A fabulous holiday! Clark adapted the kayaking days to suit the group and the weather conditions. Sardinia was absolutely beautiful, and it was great to view it from the water. As a fairly inexperienced kayaker I was comfortable with the introduction we were given and the routes we took. Th accomodation was better than expected with delicious food, comfortable rooms and a swimming pool for the warm evenings. I would recommend this trip to anyone thinking about it.
This was the perfect first solo holiday. Gorgeous scenery, beautiful beaches, great food and a fun group dynamic. The paddling was relaxed and enjoyable, while still feeling like you’d achieved something when we hit between 10 - 15km each day. Jan was a great guide and picked some great routes and spots depending on the weather. Highly recommend.
Our trip with Clark and Jamie was great! They were very accommodating, well-equipped and so friendly and helpful! They really wanted to make sure the amount of kayaking was what the group wanted and made sure lunch was inclusive of the groups needs. They were prepared for snorkelling, caves and even a rogue jellyfish sting. Great people, great trip. A highlight was definitely seeing the caves. They made sure everyone in the group was safe and having a good time!
Absolutely amazing trip!! Getting to see a different part of the northern coast of Sardinia was an unforgettable experience. Our guide Jaime was great and took us to see some of the beautiful beaches, caves, and coastline. Our tour group was so much fun and it was a pleasure spending 4 days with them! Most of all, the food at the Agriturismo Agave was INCREDIBLE!! Everyday we had a delicious breakfast and dinner from products grown on the their farm with wine.
This is a fantastic trip, in beautiful scenery and one I would highly recommend. We were all fairly new to kayaking and that was fine but it is worth doing a bit of upper body prep to fully enjoy the experience!
The food throughout - from the picnic lunches to the delicious and generous evening meals was fab. A great group dynamic too. My top tip is that the solo upgrade is well worth it, during the height of summer, as my room had air conditioning!
The hosts were very knowledgeable and made the whole thing run smoothly. The level of difficulty was just right. The service and food at the farm stay were also great and a dip in the pool was a great way to round it all off.
Excellent trip beautiful scenery, excellent kayak experience and great food and accommodation
Would fully recommend this trip to anyone looking for a bit of adventure combined with some tranquility . The whole experience exceeded our expectations, be that from the accommodation to the whole Kayaking experience. Each day was different with a good blend Kayaking conditions some more challenging than others along with opportunity to stop off at beautiful secluded beaches for swimming, snorkelling and a cold drink (beer).
Will definitely look to come back to Sardinia in the future.
I have just returned from this trip and it was absolutely incredible. The group dynamic was great - a lovely bunch of people and our hosts, Clark and Jan, were excellent. The accommodation at Agave was perfect. The family are extremely accommodating and the food is absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend booking this trip. My first MBA adventure and definitely not the last!
Great sites, but make sure to feel 100% comfortable with the kayak pedals and seats before progressing. Guide was great, routes scenic and stop offs well planned.
Great food, great kayaking
Amazing sites only reachable by sea. Great, guide, great experience. The beauty of sardinia will stay with me forever.
Trip was an absolute stunner, as sustainable as a kayak trip can possibly be. Clark and his crew made every effort. One thing to make it better... maybe something a bit more challenging for me but I knew it was a beginners course and it was such a lovely trip that I didn't care! Would love to come back! Book it.
This is an excellent trip combining adventure, fun and great food.
Epic all round. Couldn't fault it.
Every now and then you go on a trip where everything just gels. This was one of those. The group dynamic was great, the guide, Clark, was excellent, the kit was very good and the food was fabulous. Loved the agritourismo Agave too. The whole trip was a highlight and it was so lovely being out on the water in sunshine!
MBA know how to organise a trip. Clark our guide was amazing and gave us options each day of where we could go, provided us was awesome lunches, skills on our techniques and shared his favourite bars too. The accommodation was perfect with very friendly staff, tasty food and great local wine. Highly recommend the trip
I was extremely happy about all aspects of the adventure. Highly recommend MBA and the Sea Kayak in Sardinia trip.
For my first adventure it was a brilliant experience and couldn't have asked for anything more, the team dynamic was great, mostly made up of solo travellers. The accomodation was lovely with some amazing locally produced food. The kayaking was challenging but rewarding at the same time. Clark was a brilliant guide and very receptive to the groups requests and abilities. Overall just had a fantastic time and would definitely do it again!
We booked this trip as a family (ages 56, 50, 21 and 19) to celebrate a big birthday. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. A massive shout out to our guide Giovanni and the Agriturismo Agave.
Hugely recommend this trip. Perfect way to visit Sardinia. They are full days of kayaking but absolutely fine if reasonably fit. The agriturismo food is YUM. Good introduction to sea kayaking (I had kayaked previously). Shout out to Giovanni in particular who was such an excellent guide - keeping us safe as well as making sure we had fun!
Such an amazing experience. Clark was wonderful, the Agriturismo was great and the food was absolutely delicious. I was a total beginner kayaker and had the best time. Would absolutely recommend!
I had a brilliant time kayaking in Sardinia. Our group was really fun and everyone got along well. I had never sea kayaked before and it was easy to get the hang of. I am not very fit and found the difficulty level just right - my shoulders ached at the end of the day, but in a good way! The food at the agri-turismo was absolutely amazing - four course home made meals with a shot of local alcohol at the end every evening with yummy buffet breakfasts. The rooms were basic, clean and comfortable. The only tip I would give anyone booking in the future is that there was nothing to do at the agri-turismo when we first arrived and had a few hours to kill, so definitely bring a good book and/or snacks/drinks to pass the time until the first dinner. Once we had met the rest of the group on the first evening the next three days were great fun and we had a fab time. We didn't fly until the evening on the fourth day so spent some time in Alghero sight seeing. It was nice actually see a local Sardinian town as well, rather than just the sea! The trip was well organised, a good length of time and I would definitely recommend to a friend. Thank you!
Thank you, I had the most amazing time. The kayaking was was just the right amount of challenging which gave a great sense of achievement. We had spectacular beach stops for lovely lunches. Snorkelling I saw some great sea life. We had a fabulous hike one day, a lovely stop in a beach bar & even a trip to a vineyard, just so nice!
A perfect mix of beautiful scenery, new skills and experiences to learn/enjoy, great group leader and a fun group of people all this with
We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity.
What's the number?
It works out on average at 123kg of CO2 emissions per person, including all local transport, accommodation, food, activities, guides, staff and office operations.
The only thing it doesn’t include right now is flights and travel to the destination. We do make an overall estimate across all our customers separately, but as we don’t book flights, have customers from all corners of the world, and no way of reliably knowing their travel plans, we simply can’t include an individual number in the figure on display here. We’ve got a goal to fix that, so that when you book, there is a way to measure and mitigate the carbon emitted by your flight too.
But what does the number mean?
Yep, hard to picture eh? To give you an idea:
- Driving 1000miles/1609km would be approx. 281kg of CO2 in an average car (or 140.5kg per person if there was 2 of you in it).
- A return economy class flight London - New York would be approx. 1,619kg (1.66 tonnes) per person.
- 10 trees in a temperate forest are estimated to remove approx. 250kg of CO2 from the air in a period of 5-10 years.
What are we doing about it?
Our trips are relatively low-carbon by design, and we're working with all our hosts to develop long term carbon reduction plans. We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity, ensuring the protection of the reserve and its wildlife.
Want to know more?
Amazingly, no international travel company has ever publicly published their carbon measurements before, as far as we know. We believe that must change, quickly. So we’re openly sharing the method we used in the hope that other companies will be able to more easily follow suit and build on what we've done so far. You'll find it all here.
This trip is suitable for beginner or intermediate level sea kayakers, however, a good level of fitness will help you enjoy your time on the water to the full.
Sure can! Over 70% of our travellers travel solo, it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.
From May to October the daytime temperatures in Sardinia range from 22-30 °C and cool off to 11-18 °C at night. From November to April the daytime temperatures range from 14-18 °C and cool off to 10-13 °C at night. Rain is uncommon, so you're sure to get a lot of sun, but you can keep an eye on the forecast before your trip.
Sea kayaks are used on this trip. They have a covered deck and are generally longer, faster and sit lower in the water than touring or sit on top kayaks. You have the option to use a single or a double kayak and this can either be requested at booking, before departure or your host will ask you on your first day. Double kayaks are generally better for those who are new to sea kayaking or who enjoy paddling in pairs and single kayaks are better for those who want full control of the kayak or are keen to paddle solo.
You will paddle approximately 8-15km per day, depending on the group and the weather conditions.
Dinner is included on day one and is usually at about 20:00. If you arrive beforehand, you may wish to relax in the gardens or by the pool, or take a walk towards Monte Doglia (the staff at the agriturismo can direct you). As there are no shops within walking distance of your agriturismo, you may wish to bring any snacks or drinks with you, buy them at the airport, or go into Alghero for supplies – the old town is lovely to walk around.
