What to Expect

Saturday: Arrival and Canyoning the Vallée d’Arve

Arrive at Geneva Airport for 10:30 where your guides will welcome you. Transfer to Chamonix, stopping half-way in the Vallée d’Arve for your first canyoning adventure. After a brief introduction, it’s time to hop into a wetsuit and pop on your helmet and harness.

The first set of canyons are easy and ideal for beginners. There’s a plethora of jumping platforms, deep pools and natural slides to slip down.

After three hours traversing Mont Blanc’s tricky slopes and ravines, tuck into a tasty homemade lunch and relax in the sun. Then your guide will drive you to Trient, a picturesque Swiss village. You’ll spend the night here; feel free to explore the village and its surroundings before heading back to base for dinner.

Sunday: Tackle Tougher Canyons and Departure

Wake up bright and early after a cosy night in the refuge. Fuel yourself for the day ahead by indulging in a traditional Swiss breakfast; complete with local jams, marmalades, honey and cheeses.

The day’s canyon will be dependent on water levels, but whichever route your guide chooses, you’ll be in for a day of dizzying heights and adrenaline-inducing leaps. First up is an hour-long hike up to the top of the canyon. Once you reach the top, you’ll cool off by jumping right into the cold water.

Venture downstream, navigating winding waterways, toboggans and long rappels. After the day’s activities, enjoy a tasty lunch out in the fresh air before piling back into the van and making your way to back Chamonix Mont Blanc. You have a couple free hours before your airport transfer is scheduled, so go explore (or unwind over a drink – it’s up to you!)

Note: This itinerary and the duration of the activities are subject to change due to group abilities and preferences, and weather conditions and forecasts.

Accommodation

After a long day canyoning, you’ll have the cosy Refuge Le Peuty in Trient waiting for you. The mountain hut has an adventurous, friendly atmosphere and a bar with a wide array of drinks and snacks. You’ll get to bond and unwind with like-minded explorers while you recuperate from the day’s events. You’ll be staying in a dormitory, but you can get a single room for a supplement of 75.00 EUR. Note that you can’t stay an additional night.
