Tucked away close to the tip of Northen Norway stands the land of the midnight sun: the picturesque Lofoten Islands. They’re a vibrant necklace of islands that are more in-keeping with colours of the tropics than they are reflective of their Arctic Circle standing.

You’ll be staying in the small village of Skrova. Dubbed ‘Little Hawaii’, Skrova is an island group within Lofoten that encompasses Vestfjorden, south of the islands of Austvågøya, Litlmolla and Stormolla.

The islands’ quintessential, jagged rock formations rise out of the ocean. The archipelago conceals ancient fishing villages and secret coves. For the those interested in history, the islands have a rich connection to the Vikings. This means that on the unlikely event that you tire of the area’s natural beauty, there’s plenty of landmarks and museums to discover.

Start point

You’ll meet your guides in Svolvær’s Market Square (Wild Seas booth) at 14:30. Svolvær is a small town, but your hosts’ booth can be located easily.

Finish point

Your adventure will finish at the Svolvær’s Market Square at 14:00.

What to Expect

Day 1: Explore Trollfjord by Boat

You’ll meet your guides in Svolvær’s Market Square at 14:30 to make your way to Trollfjord. The white-tailed sea eagle is the island chain’s main attraction, but you may well see a variety of other seabirds along with seals, porpoises and whales.

Next up is a visit to a local goat farm known for its delicious artisanal fares. Tuck into local cheeses and a savoury three-course meal. Then return to your glam basecamp where you’ll sleep in cosy, Lavvu tepee in a comfy full-sized bed and wake to the sight of the ocean lapping a lovely white sand beach.

Day 2: Hike the Lofoten Islands

You’ll wake up bright, early and ready for a full day’s adventure. Your route will take you through some of the area’s most important historical sites and your guide will teach you intriguing tidbits about the culture of Lofoten. You’ll also visit a museum in the afternoon.

Day 3: Experience Lofoten from your Kayak

For your final day, you’ll jump in a kayak and paddle your way around the islands. After a few hours on the water, you’ll stop for a picnic lunch before paddling back, packing up and making your way to the next step of your journey.

You’ll be staying in a teepee in a unique pop-up glamping spot, called Glam-Camp. But don’t worry — you won’t have to sacrifice comfort for wilderness. You’ll be staying in a lavish Lavvu teepee, that comes complete with a comfy, full-sized bed, a pile of fluffy pillows and a plush duvet. Your teepee is located along one of the islands’ litany of beautiful white sandy beaches, so you’ll fall asleep to the unforgettable midnight sun and wake to the sound of the ocean.
