Key Information

Day 1

Head to the hills

Prosecco Hills, Italy. Photo: GettyImages-1477410817

Touch down in Venice airport, meet your host and transfer one hour north to the Agriturismo La Bella, nestled in the foothills of the idyllic Prosecco Hills. Despite being awarded UNESCO status in 2019, this area remains off the radar for many and is a world away from busy Venice, preserving a special and authentic rural charm. Relax into the serene surroundings before meeting up with your fellow adventurers and your guide for a chat about the next few days. Join your agriturismo's host and chef, Elisa, for a short stroll around the farm, before tucking into an organic farm-to-table dinner expertly cooked by her. Set in for a good night's sleep ahead of the explorations starting tomorrow.

Day 2

Hike terraced vineyards and taste the sparkling wine

Prosecco Hills, Italy. Photo: GettyImages-1477410817

Hiking

4hrs · 7mi · 1312ft up · 1312ft down

Your first hike starts right from your doorstep, leading toward one of the most charming corners of the Prosecco Hills. Follow a gravel path that climbs to the top of San Gallo Hill, once the site of a medieval castle, then head deeper into the iconic terraced hills, with scenic views of green valleys dotted with little villages at your feet. You'll stop for lunch in a panoramic spot, where you'll meet a renowned local wine producer who will guide you through the history and the wine-growing traditions of this rich landscape. Enjoy a delicious light lunch paired with some of the best Prosecco varieties of the area, before heading back to your agriturismo in the afternoon. Tonight you may join your guide and group for another great dinner experience in a local restaurant in the nearby village of Follina.

Day 3

Bike rolling hills, lakes and quaint hamlets

Cycling the Prosecco Hills, Italy. Photo: Supplier/Italy Cycling Tours

E-bike

4hrs · 25mi · 1476ft up · 1476ft down

Hang up your boots this morning, as you'll leave the agriturismo on the saddle of your e-bike instead, biking quiet back roads to the ancient mill of Molinetto della Croda, a lovely example of 16th-century rustic architecture hidden away in an idyllic spot. From here, tackle a 2-mile steep climb to the enchanting hilltop hamlet of Rolle, but thanks to your e-bike the ascent will feel smooth and manageable! Pedal along, surrounded by lush hills that open up to breathtaking panoramic views, before freewheeling down to the shores of Revine Lake for a picnic, a well-earned rest and a cool swim (optional; in season). Continue via the charming villages of Cison di Valmarino and Follina and finish with an exciting ride up and down the winding roads of Combai, before returning to your agriturismo in the afternoon. Tonight, you may choose to refuel with some well-deserved pizza and an Aperol spritz with your group!

Day 4

Into the heart of the Prosecco Hills

Prosecco Hills, Italy. Photo: Marta Marinelli/Much Better Adventures

Hiking

4hrs · 6mi · 1312ft up · 1312ft down

Fuel up on breakfast then take a short morning transfer to the small village of Santo Stefano, an important local wine-making center. Next, set off on foot climbing to the village hillside which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, venturing deeper through lines of endless vineyards and soaking up the stunning views of the Piave River and Montello Hill on one side, Valdobbiadene and the rising Prealps on the other. Stop for refreshments at Osteria Senz’Oste – a restored three-story farmhouse, built at the end of the nineteenth century, which offers arguably the most stunning view over the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. For lunch, you'll be welcomed by Pietrovecchio Winery, where you'll enjoy an indulgent wine-tasting session before being transferred back to your hotel.

Day 5

High views and meadows of the Prealps

Monte Cesen, Prosecco Hills, Italy. Photo: Vania de Paoli, leader

Hiking

4hrs · 6mi · 1640ft up · 1640ft down

On your final day, you'll enjoy a change of scenery as you head high above the Prosecco Hills, hitting some stunning trails in the Prealps up the slopes of Mount Cesen (4,593 ft). Hike through mountain pastures and meadows, with incredible views that on a clear day stretch as far as the eastern Alps, Dolomites, and Venice. Tonight, you'll toast to the end of your epic adventure with more bubbles, and savor some traditional Venetian dishes in a renowned historic restaurant in the area. Cheers!

Day 6

To Venice

What is the food like?

The food will undoubtedly be a highlight of your trip, and during the week you'll have the chance to try some well-known as well as unfamiliar gastronomic delights of the Prosecco region. Mealtimes are not only about nourishment, but also an opportunity to learn about the culture of the area, and to enjoy each other's company. The Agriturismo La Bella celebrates local, organic produce with almost 100% of their ingredients coming from their own farm. Homemade cakes, bread, and fruit jellies, as well as freshly squeezed juices, are always part of the morning breakfast buffet; for those who prefer a savory start to the day, free-range eggs from the farm's hens are available. On your first night you'll also have the opportunity to taste Elisa's amazing cooking, with a special farm-to-table dinner experience, all based around seasonal ingredients. Lunches throughout the trip will consist of picnics or light meals, with a great variety of local ingredients including cheese, cured meats and fresh vegetables. On your final evening you'll have a special farewell dinner included at a renowned local restaurant in the area, while for the remainder of the evenings your guide will recommend a variety of great local restaurants near your accommodation. This ensures your money is spent locally and benefits the local community. Of course, Prosecco will be plentiful throughout your stay, with some tastings included as well as a visit to a local winery, where you'll have the chance to learn about the wine-making process and sample different local varieties of fizz.

Vegetarians, vegans and other dietary requirements and allergies can be catered for – please just request this on your passenger info form.

What is the accommodation like?

Agriturismo La Bella

Your base for the whole trip is a locally-run agriturismo, an authentic farmstay nestled in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Prosecco Hills region, near the village of Follina. It offers authentic Italian hospitality against a backdrop of lush green agricultural landscapes. Your host Elisa runs the country house and the adjacent organic farm, from which she sources the ingredients for your delicious daily breakfasts and organic farm-to-table experience on your first evening. You'll stay in beautifully restored twin-share rooms which come with en suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and free WiFi. The property also offers a downstairs seating area as well as a beautiful patio, the perfect spots for socializing or relaxing.

Upgrades

For solo travellers looking for their own space, a private room can be booked for an extra charge – see Optional Extras for the price. Please request this at the time of booking (this is subject to availability).

This trip has been rated as Easy

Anyone in good health, with average fitness levels and able to hike for a few hours each day will be fine on this trip. The elevation gain is easy to moderate, up to 1,640 ft up and down each day, with some short, steep ascents and undulating routes which will get the heart pumping at times. However, the going is leisurely with plenty of stops to enjoy the views. The terrain and path type will vary from paved tracks to forest trails and dirt roads.

The trip also includes a scenic ride on e-bikes – bicycles with battery-powered assistance that comes via pedaling. The route will include some steep uphill sections, winding roads and easy gravel paths, but your e-bike will give you an extra push if you struggle with the climbs so you should find it easier than expected! No previous experience is needed, but you must feel comfortable on two wheels.

Please note that heatwaves and heavy rains are possible (especially during the summer months of Jul-Aug) so the overall weather conditions may increase the intensity of the trip. If you don't exercise regularly or you don't have much experience with hiking, please consider factoring in some training beforehand to make the experience more enjoyable.

What will I need to carry?

You'll need to have a larger bag suitable for all your belongings which will remain at the agriturismo and then a small daypack to carry personal items during each day of hiking.

During springtime between April and May, the Prosecco Hills region usually enjoys mild temperatures averaging 64-73°F, although nights are always a bit cooler. The summer months tend to be hot and humid, with temperatures in July-August going up to 86-95°F. Although hiking will feel a bit more challenging due to the sun, this is when the landscape is the greenest and lushest, with vines in full bloom just before their September harvest. In October, temperatures are still very pleasant for walking, with trees starting to dress with spectacular colors from dark green to yellow. In summary, every season is great to visit the Prosecco Hills, with the only exception of winter when harsh freezing temperatures make hiking less favorable and the landscape quite bare.

Rain is possible at any time of year and climate change has made seasons a little more unpredictable than usual. Occasionally, summer storms with heavy rain and strong winds can occur. Take layered clothing to adjust to the changing temperatures and something warm for the cooler evenings if traveling in spring and fall.

Amazing trip

This was my first trip with MBA but definitely not my last! I booked this trip solo and had a fantastic time with a lovely group and Vania, who was our wonderful guide. The activities were fun and well-paced, in beautiful surroundings. Vania was very professional and gave a thorough briefing each evening so we knew what to expect the following day. There are a few steep ascents but plenty of rest time to recoup and continue. If you are a frequent walker, you will be fine. My favourite activity was the hike on the last day - gorgeous views! - closely followed by the biking. The farmhouse where we stayed was run by the lovely Elisa. The restaurant had fresh, delicious food and the showers in the rooms were excellent. This was my seventh time visiting Italy and it was so nice to feel like a local, having an authentic experience of life in a beautiful region. Vania made sure we all had a lot of fun and my group were all lovely, kind people. If you're thinking of booking, go for it.

This trip is amazing! I’ve always wanted to hike and sip wine in the Italian countryside and this was it! Vania was a fantastic guide and made us feel like we could conquer anything. The agriturismo, La Bella, was a great location and Elisa prepared delicious dishes. I met a great group of people and they helped make it a once in a lifetime experience.

What a brilliant week we've had, enjoyed every part of it; walking, cycling and the prosecco/wine tasting. Stunning scenery and some fabulous restaurants. Vania our guide made the trip, meticulous organisation but relaxed all the same, a great group, lots of laughs. I'd highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely amazing holiday from the second I was warmly welcomed by Vania at Marco Polo Airport. Everything throughout the trip was seamless. This was absolutely down to the AMAZING Vania. All of our transfers were in immaculate mini buses driven by competent professional drivers. The Agriturismo was stunning. Beautiful setting, beautiful rooms and our host Eliza was more than superb. She was a generous host plus an incredible chef. What a treat. Also a huge thank you to her staff who were always so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast each morning was plentiful, eggs (cooked to order), coffee (made to order), cheeses/meats sliced freshly for you, pies, sweet treats, jams, fruit, juices. The walks/hikes were described each evening in the briefing including a weather report. Vania made sure the whole group were well informed about the following days itinerary. Each day we walked/hiked. The scenery and walks were incredible down to the expertise of Vania who was local to the area which massively showed. The E biking day was my favourite day. Andrea was our cycling expert and he absolutely ensured each member of the group was confident before set off for what was a truly memorable day. We cycled on different terrain through vineyards and beautiful villages. Plus a dip in a lake. The Prosecco tastings were particularly enjoyable. Each vineyard we visited was stunning. Beautiful plates of food to accompany the Prosecco was a real treat. Long lunches in the October sunshine. Vania suggested restaurants for the 3 evenings that weren't included. WOW she chose well! Thank you Vania all the food was delicious and authentic. The whole trip was faultless and I feel incredibly lucky to have been part of such a wonderful group. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see the stunning Prosecco hills, enjoy Prosecco of course, there was plentiful Prosecco and experience the expertise of Vania. THANK YOU VANIA from the bottom of my heart you made my trip MEMORABLE.

not as described

The MBA site describes this as the 'ultimate foodie adventure' and this could not be further from the truth. The group only encountered okay during the three times we were required to go to a local restaurant and pay for ourselves. For example, the first hike, which was a very cold, long day, we were ushered to an establishment for lunch that only offered us a piece of ham, piece of cheese, and cold beans for lunch. On top of that, there was no bathroom to use for the entirety of the 6 hour hike as the establishment refused us the facilities because their water stopped working suddenly. The other meals at the agriturismo were almost inedible. The group was also forced to eat dinner there one night and then also pay for it even though most of us couldn't finish the meal and also weren't told the cost of the meal. The location of the agriturismo is such that there are no other restaurants close by other than a pizzeria which is disappointing.

The walks and the bike ride were fabulous with amazing views. The guide Vania was very knowledgeable and entertaining and the group were great fun. Unfortunately the food at the agriturismo was very disappointing, no fresh pasta even and overpriced in comparison to some excellent local restaurants.

Agriturismo catering a disappointment

Trip positives first- our bedroom was fine our guide Vania was excellent the hikes and ebike trip also varied beautiful and perfectly pitched at our mixed group level. The 3 evening meals we ate at different restaurants were superb and good value. However, the food at the Agriturismo was unexpectedly amateurish. A clue was the lack of delicious or any aromas emanating from the kitchen. No fresh pasta, the sense that meals were frozen and pre-prepared and reheated. I would recommend our activities but would not stay at this Agriturismo again.

Everything I'd hoped for, and more

Daily hikes offered incredible scenery, taken at a relaxed, steady pace. We enjoyed hilltop lunches in unspoilt settings and sampled the finest prosecco, produced in nearby vineyards. One day we did an e-bike tour — invaluable for the climbs — exploring quiet roads and paths through breathtaking landscapes and vineyards.

The food throughout was local, plentiful, and full of variety, with prosecco flowing freely. Perhaps the highlight of the trip was the group itself — a great mix of interesting people who sharing plenty of laughs along the way. Even on our free evenings, the recommended restaurants were so good that we all chose to dine together. I would definitely recommend and am looking into our next adventure.

Pippa G.(October 2025)
More than a tour

The Prosecco Hills tour was so much more than I expected. The setting one hour north of Venice had breathtaking scenery, the food was wonderful and copious, and we were expertly looked after by our guide Marta throughout. The most important aspect of the tour however was the camaraderie and bond formed with other members of the group with lots of chatting, and laughter while we hiked the hills and afterwards reflected on the day over a glass of prosecco! The tour also proved to be good value with no skimping on food and wine. This would be a great tour for anyone to go on and I would not hesitate to recommend MBA. The group is already planning our next trip to Tuscany!

So much fun

I had an amazing time on this adventure! The hikes were a great length; some were more challenging, but never overwhelming. I always felt capable of completing them, though the generous amounts of Prosecco might not of helped with training readiness!

The September weather was perfect for hiking, warm but not too hot, and we were lucky enough to witness the grape harvest, which added a really special touch to the experience. The combination of scenic walks, e-biking through rolling hills, and tasting delicious local wines made this trip feel like the perfect balance of activity and indulgence.

Highly recommend for anyone who loves nature, wine, and a bit of a challenge!

This was the best activity holiday I have been on and will definitely go on another one with MBA. From start to finish everything was well organised and Vania, our guide, was brilliant and made even the steepest climbs fun. As a local, she was passionate about the area, the wine and food and this was definitely passed on to us. Our group all got on so well, shared lots of laughter (as well as wine) and left as friends. The walks were quite tough but so worth it for the views and it was a nice change to have a day on E-Bikes. The accommodation was clean and we were made very welcome by Elisa and her team. The food at La Bella was great and we also had three nights eating at restaurants which were fabulous. We were lucky enough to see the grapes being harvested and the different tastings were excellent. The wine really was so much better than the Prosecco we get in the UK - this really was a fantastic holiday, thank you Vania and MBA.

This was a perfect holiday: good, clean and friendly accommodation and a really well thought out itinerary. Our hikes were breathtakingly beautiful, and the wines seemed to flow and flow. For those concerned about the level of fitness required, if you can walk up steep-ish hills to the point of getting out of breath but recover within a couple of minutes, that's indicative of the level required. It's also pretty much all on established tracks. We were a mixed group of strangers but everyone was of a similar ability. I found poles were useful (not permitted in carry on luggage). Food was good - 2 nights eating in, 3 nights eating out. The pizzeria was lovely and the 2 other restaurants were a lot smarter than I was expecting for a casual activity holiday. Lunches were both varied and of a great standard. The ebiking day was lots of fun, getting out on quiet roads and tracks, and was a first for some. The absolute star of the show was our guide, Vania, whose humour kept us all in high spirits. Her professionalism felt relaxed, but she was super organised which helped the whole stay flow with ease. This was the first trip of this kind I have made but it definitely won't be the last.

This was my first MBA with 3 of my friends. Why it's taken so long to do this trip I have no idea. The hikes that we were guided on were some of the most beautiful hikes I've ever done. The ebike trip was equally as awesome and I wish we could have done more! Everybody on the trip was well looked after at our accommodation by Eliza and the team at La Bella. But I think the thing that made our trip extra special was Vania. Her knowledge, professionalism and personal connection was second to none. The information and knowledge she passed to us won't be forgotten. Most of all, we had fun, lots of it. I only hope that I have as much fun on future MBA trips. Thank you MBA and thank you Vania ♥️

Giving this 5* because it was definitely worth it. Beautiful location and the surrounding areas as well as the hotel. Everyone is so welcoming and can’t wait to share their specialities with you. The walks can feel a little tough with the inclines but they don’t last long and worth it for the views. Time is taken for everyone so it’s not a rush Cycling was amazing- although if you have padded shorts - take them! Weather obviously made a difference and we were lucky with a storm only during the night Marta our guide was exceptional and from the moment of meeting at the airport made you feel like a friend. It’s a first with MBA but I feel confident to book another trip very soon! If you like plenty of activity, with amazing food and good wines - give this a go!

We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre program, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity.

What's the number?
It works out on average at 164kg of CO2 emissions per person, including all local transport, accommodation, food, activities, guides, staff and office operations.

The only thing it doesn’t include right now is flights and travel to the destination. We do make an overall estimate across all our customers separately, but as we don’t book flights, have customers from all corners of the world, and no way of reliably knowing their travel plans, we simply can’t include an individual number in the figure on display here. We’ve got a goal to fix that, so that when you book, there is a way to measure and mitigate the carbon emitted by your flight too.

But what does the number mean?
Yep, hard to picture eh? To give you an idea:

  • Driving 1000 miles/1609km would be approximately 281kg of CO2 in an average car (or 140.5kg per person, if there were two of you in it).
  • A return economy class flight between London and New York would be approximately 1619kg (1.66 tonnes) per person.
  • 10 trees in a temperate forest are estimated to remove approximately 250kg of CO2 from the air in a period of 5-10 years.

What are we doing about it?
Our trips are relatively low-carbon by design, and we're working with all our hosts to develop long term carbon reduction plans. We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity, ensuring the protection of the reserve and its wildlife.

Want to know more?
Amazingly, no international travel company has ever publicly published their carbon measurements before, as far as we know. We believe that must change, quickly. So we’re openly sharing the method we used in the hope that other companies will be able to more easily follow suit and build on what we've done so far. You'll find it all here.

Marta Marinelli, raised in Italy’s serene Prosecco Hills, dreamed of global adventures, inspired by her father's travel stories. Her passion evolved into a career, backed by a decade of studies including degrees in international tourism and destination management. She’s worked in the adventure travel sector since 2012, living in Italy, the UK, and now sunny Portugal.

Over twenty years, Marta has explored over 55 countries, visiting remote areas like Ghana, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Haiti and Nepal’s Upper Mustang region. As a Senior Adventure Expansion Manager at Much Better Adventures, she focuses on creating life-changing experiences, ranging from multi-activity adventures, challenging treks to ultimate adventures in iconic places. She loves the challenge of finding the best local adventure hosts around the world, collaborating on adventures that offer genuine immersion, pushing beyond the beaten path and working on exclusive itineraries that challenge your comfort zone.

What makes her tick? Enabling people to live adventure-rich lives while positively impacting and empowering local communities around the world, generating sustainable opportunities for both the host, guides, community, and the environment.

The tap water is safe to drink. Please bring your own reusable water bottle to fill up at the agriturismo or public fountains to avoid buying single-use plastic bottles.

If bad weather affects any of the activities your local guide will deviate to a more sheltered part of the hills for alternative hikes, or may decide to swap around the order of the program.

This trip operates in areas where daytime temperatures can reach extreme levels, with limited shade and, at times, high humidity adding to the challenge. These conditions can affect physical performance and increase the risk of dehydration or heat-related illness. Your guide will adjust the pace and monitor the group closely, but staying well hydrated, wearing suitable clothing, and using sun protection is essential.

Before traveling, consider your ability to remain active in high temperatures and consult a medical professional if you have any concerns, especially if you have cardiovascular or heat-sensitive conditions. Arriving a day or two before the trip may help you adjust gradually to the heat.

Your e-bike will assist with about 25% of the effort on an average ride, meaning you'll provide about 75% of the effort. There will be moments when you'll need to switch to Boost mode for short bursts of power, especially on challenging terrain or steep sections. However, most of your ride will be in Eco and Trail modes, with Eco mode often being your go-to on climbs to conserve battery life throughout the day. This balance ensures a smooth, enjoyable ride while still giving you the thrill of exploration on two wheels.

In terms of speed, the power assistance on e-bikes is typically capped at around 15mph. If you want to go faster, you'll need to pedal harder! You can adjust the power levels to match your pace and terrain. Your cycling guide will brief you on how to use the different modes to optimize your ride and make the battery last:

Eco Mode: Low power for energy efficiency, giving you longer battery life on flat terrain.
Auto Mode: Automatically adjusts the power based on terrain and your pedaling effort for a more balanced ride.
Sport Mode: Provides mid-range power, ideal for moderate hills and faster cruising.
Turbo Mode: Delivers maximum power, perfect for steep hills or when you want to ride fast.

When it comes to battery power, the e-bike batteries are typically charged overnight, usually at your accommodation. There will be a couple of spare batteries in the support vehicle just in case. However, if you manage your battery usage throughout the day (for example, by avoiding using turbo mode all the time), you’ll find that the battery lasts long enough for most rides without any issues.

Much Better Adventures refer to the UK Government’s official travel advice when designing trips and monitoring trip operations. We recommend that all customers review the practical information available on the UK Government’s FCDO website, where you can find up-to-date advice by searching for your destination(s).

If you are based in the United States, you can also check the latest travel advisories from the U.S. Department of State.

For customers joining from other international locations, we recommend checking the official travel advice issued by your country of residence, as guidance may vary.

We recommend checking out the country-specific information and also talking to a travel nurse.

We automatically convert prices from the local currency that a host receives to your chosen currency. We update our exchange rates daily, so prices displayed on the site are subject to currency fluctuations, which is why you may see them change over time.

If you wish to change the currency you pay in, head to the bottom of the page.
