Count Kalnoky's Guesthouses

Count Kalnoky's Estate is composed of buildings in two villages, Miklosvar and Sepsikorospatak. During the Communist regime in Romania, many of the buildings had fallen into ruins. The family immediately set about finding ways to save their heritage and restore the Estate to its former character. Through the development of a unique tourism venture, the Kalnoky's have started turning their vision into reality. Count Kalnoky's Guesthouses are situated in the tiny village of Miklosvar in Szeklerland, Transylvania. The unique estate of Count Kalnoky welcomes guests longing for adventure, culture, history and genuine natural environment. " Travel back in time to discover living history and unspoiled wildlife. Contribute to the preservation of Transylvania's heritage. "

Our Future Action Plan

  • Organize less excursions involving cars, and focus on the nature tours with horse & cart or walking tours.
  • reduce our shopping from the supermarkets, and try to purchase things from the locals
  • Buy/use no plastic bags or products packed in plastic materials, and to use as less paper as possible in the office.
  • Increase fertility of our garden, and if the vegetables will not be enough to cover our needs, we`ll buy the extra needs from the villagers.
