Our Future Action Plan
- ONGOING - Replicate the Shakti village Walks model in other parts of India, so that other communities can develop.
- ONGOING - Continue to teach english in the local Kumaoni schools, and aim to have a more regular structure for this. Our private guides teach English to the locals when there are no booking in the region. We also encourage clients to bring books and stati
- ONGOING - Our houses in Kumaon now operate on solar power. We are working towards this in Ladakh and Sikkim as well.
- DONE! Continue to increase locally sourced products. We have increased consumption of locally sourced products such as food supplies, shawls, bath products among others.
- DONE! Support local customs in Ladakh, like we do in Kumaon with the Kumaoni Dance group. We have a cultural show and encourage locals and even monks to come and speak with our clients about their way of life. Shakti also played a role in relief work when
