Great experience - I was ready for a bit of a challenge and it was some time, you do need a basic fitness level but I really enjoyed it. We were a small group and supported and motivated each other to get to the top. Thank you also to our guide Chris as well as Sue who provided everything we needed all along the experience. I would definitely recommend it !
Everything about this trip was fantastic. Our guides made it even more special. Huge thanks
Really enjoyed this! You do need a basic level of fitness as there is a steep hill on the bike ride and the Snowdon climb is steep and rocky in parts. Definitely worth doing some incline walking and cardio before doing this challenge but it was awesome, the guides are great and I highly recommend it :)
A fantastically organised trip, where you get to see the beauty of Snowdon from a kayak, bike and rewarding hike up to the top! Our guide Colin was very experienced, informative and friendly as were Sue & Jim who provided everything we needed for the challenge. We enjoyed all the company we had on the day from our group and hope to do a similar trip very soon. Thank you MBA for a great opportunity and a super service đ
WOW! Donât hesitate get it booked. We are still so over whelmed by the whole adventure. The Hosts and Rangers were incredible and nothing too much. The accommodation was fantastic, pre communications were spot on, we were made aware of what we would need and what we wouldnât! Every corner we were smiling even if we thought it a little tougher then expected! Weâd do it again! 100% recommend and thank you so so much for the once in a life time experience.
This is a challenge but not beyond your capabilities and if you struggle on any part then youâll be helped and encouraged so you achieve all that you can. Fab experience, amazing achievement with wonderful guides in a beautiful part of Wales
Excellent day, welll organised. Kat was a fantastic host, knowledgeable, friendly and very professional. Jim and the rest of the team were exceptional helpful and friendly too, from beginning to end. Highly recommend it to everyone!
We had an amazing day with a fabulous support team. The weather was fantastic so though the kit list had us prepared we were very lucky not to use it all on the day. Views from the top, which I hadnât seen since my childhood were stunning, great company lovely sandwiches and the cycle and kayak just added an extra touch that were much enjoyed by all. We really enjoyed our fab curry in town after
Amazing trip. Well organised. great hosts..thank you Jim, Amy, Sue, Colin. But local hotel was very dated with dirty carpets.
We've crunched the numbers to work out the total carbon footprint of this trip, and plant enough trees to suck 2x as much back out the atmosphere.
What's the number?
It works out on average at 29kg of CO2 emissions per person, including all local transport, accommodation, food, activities, guides, staff and office operations.
The only thing it doesnât include right now is flights and travel to the destination. We do make an overall estimate across all our customers separately, but as we donât book flights, have customers from all corners of the world, and no way of reliably knowing their travel plans, we simply canât include an individual number in the figure on display here. Weâve got a goal for 2022 to fix that, so that when you book, there is a way to measure and mitigate the carbon emitted by your flight too.
But what does the number mean?
Yep, hard to picture eh? To give you an idea:
- Driving 1000miles/1609km would be approx. 281kg of CO2 in an average car (or 140.5kg per person if there was 2 of you in it).
- A return economy class flight London - New York would be approx. 1,619kg (1.66 tonnes) per person.
- 10 trees in a temperate forest are estimated to remove approx. 250kg of CO2 from the air in a period of 5-10 years.
What are we doing about it?
Our trips are relatively low-carbon by design, and we're working with all our hosts to develop long term carbon reduction plans. For every person booked with us since 2016 weâre planting enough trees to suck at least 2x more carbon out the atmosphere than is emitted by their trips. All native trees, as part of amazing projects that are re-foresting degraded land, tackling the biodiversity crisis and supporting local communities at the same time. We go further than that too, also funding re-wilding projects worldwide to help protect important keystone species from extinction. See the reforestation and re-wilding schemes we support. See our carbon action plan.
Want to know more?
Amazingly, no international travel company has ever publicly published their carbon measurements before, as far as we know. We believe that must change, quickly. So weâre openly sharing the method we used in the hope that other companies will be able to more easily follow suit and build on what we've done so far. You'll find it all here.
This trip is suitable whether youâve done challenges before or itâs your first one. No particular level of skill is needed, but you do need a good level of walking and cycling fitness.
Sure can! Over 50% of our travellers travel solo, itâs a great way to meet like-minded people.
Summers in Llanberis are perfect for athletics because theyâre not excessively hot or sunny. Daytime temperatures average a pleasant 19 °C, and nighttime temperatures cool off to 12 °C.
Because of its elevation, weather on Snowdon is considerably cooler and more fickle. Temperatures range from 10 â 12 °C during the day, but the skies are clear roughly half the days each month.
Sure. You can leave anything you don't need on the Challenge at the hotel.
