Jagan, our local host in Nepal

Jagan Timilsina isn’t your run-of-the-mill tour guide. When asked about his proudest moments, he could brag about climbing more than 25 peaks including Mount Everest, or recount winning the 1700 km Great Himal Race across the Nepali Himalayas to raise money for charity. Instead, he talks about people...

Meet Jagan

"An experience that exceeded my expectations. From start to finish the host’s team were all wonderful. It was a balanced and beautiful itinerary and I have so many great memories."

Ayman, our local host in Jordan

Ayman Abd-Alkareem and Anton Al-Sager have been instrumental in establishing a cycling culture in Jordan.

"One of the most important parts is including as many local communities as possible along our trails," says Ayman. "The idea is not to run more tours but more sustainable, meaningful tours."

Meet Ayman & Anton

"From start to finish, this experience was well organized… the local team there ABSOLUTELY know what they are doing. There are no appropriate words to acknowledge the expertise and personalities of our guides."

Uta, our local host in Kosovo

Uta Ibrahimi is the first person from Kosovo to have ever climbed Everest, and also to have summited all 14 of the world's 8000m+ peaks. Uta is one of the first female guides in Kosovo, and her company and foundation now organise training programmes encouraging more people of all genders, but especially women, to work in the mountains.

The feeling’s mutual!

We treat our hosts as partners; working closely with them to support and empower their operations, provide feedback, and do all that we can to help their businesses to flourish and contribute to their local economies. Providing our hosts with the required resources means they can focus on what they do best: running outstanding adventures. "I appreciate the collaborative spirit – there’s a real sense of partnership, which motivates us to continuously improve and innovate together," says our host in Sri Lanka.

"I really love the Much Better Adventures ethos and model for working with ground operators supporting rural, community and eco-based tourism." – our host in South Africa
