There are no direct flights from the UK. The quickest route is via Madrid, where Iberia flies non-stop to Guatemala City every day. Allow 15–17 hours door to door.
Antigua is about an hour’s drive from the airport.

Guatemala is 6 hours behind the UK in winter and 7 hours behind during British Summer Time. Summit days start at 3–3:30am to reach the top for sunrise. It’s an early one, but watching the sun come up over a ring of volcanoes makes it more than worth it.
