A great adventure!

Thank you for such an mazing trip. It was my first solo holiday and it exceeded my expectations. I met a great group of people and was expertly guided on some challenging (for me) treks. The yoga was a perfect way to relax and stretch out after a physical day. the accommodation was gorgeous and very comfortable and the food was great.

From the moment Mai said

From the moment Mai said hello I knew this would be a good trip! She immediately explained things and then we relaxed and she and Helena looked after us SO well. The group of 12 ladies all blended with an age difference of 30 years. The kindness, and respect shown to everyone by everyone created a real sense of a group. The walks were all different and so well guided by Mai and Helena with plenty of comfort stops, picnic places beautifully chosen. I strongly recommend the nut and oat snack balls in the recipe section of the list of kit to take - I made them and handed them around and Mai was not keen to share those I left as they are so tasty! The walks are described as moderate which was perfect and any slightly difficult bits well supported. The food and the accommodation was perfect - interesting tasty local food cooked by our own private chef and the final meal out in a tapas restaurant was extra yummy! We all bonded so well and there were emotional good byes and I am sure some of us will meet up again. A huge thank you to MBA for putting on this trip and for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to make it the truly fantastic experience. I can't wait to book the next one !

Wonderful Hiking Trip

I really enjoyed the 4 night premium hiking and yoga trip. It was my first time going away on my own and joining a group but it was ace. It was well organised, the food and accommodation was better than I expected and the 3 hikes were on great routes with beautiful views. There were 12 women on the trip and we all got on really well. Mai, one of the guides and our yoga instructor was lovely and always smiling. Would definitely recommend.

Exploring Mallorca

A brilliant way to explore beautiful Mallorca in just a few days. The trip was very well planned. Lovely accommodation, food, and a good variety of terrain on the hikes. Our guides were brilliant.

A truly memorable trip full of beautiful views and new friends

This was a fantastic trip! I was lucky enough to join a great group of ladies and I really enjoyed the three hikes we did. Each hike was the perfect moderate challenge and gave us breath-taking views of this beautiful area of Mallorca. Mai and Helena are fantastic guides - they were always mindful of the group dynamic and safety; very knowledgable about the routes and island; and a lot of fun. Mai led wonderful open air yoga sessions that were so relaxing after each day of walking. Can Torna is a restful finca surrounded by nature, my bedroom was very comfortable and it was great to have communal complimentary hot drink facilities available. Dinner each night was delicious. The trip was so well organised it was easy to relax and embrace the experience.

The Best Group Holiday, Ever!

Everything about this holiday, my first with MBA, was perfect. The accommodation in a rural farmhouse was excellent, with the owner making an impromptu visit for flamenco. MBA had hired in Armando to cook for us, every night was like being in a Michelin starred restaurant! The group, although different ages, gelled in a way I had never experienced before with cross table banter and good natured chats. The yoga was lots of fun and the three walks were challenging but perfectly manageable, magnificently planned so we had simply incredible views. Saving th e best to last, our guide for the holiday, Mai. Mai was full of energy and enthusiasm at all times, lots of laughter, the occasional song and yet inspiring confidence in the walking with her knowledge of the terrain. An excellent holiday in every respect

This was the first group holiday I had ever booked. I loved every moment. The organisation was excellent. Our tour guide was funny and motivating. The walks were stunning. The finca was delightful and we had excellent food cooked by a private chef. Our group of strangers, of all different ages, formed a strong bond and we enjoyed great conversations and much laughter. I would thoroughly recommend.

Fabulous trip

Superb trip. Great accommodation and perfect food (huge breakfast and then our lovely chef fed us very well in the evenings). Superb guide - Mei (with Ceci in support as part of her training). She was friendly, fun, hugely knowledgeable and led us very well. The hikes were strenuous but a lot of fun and then relaxing yoga to ease aching muscles. Highly recommend and would definitely use MBA again.

A wonderful time. I’ll certainly book another.

A stunning hotel, challenging but beautiful hikes, restorative vinyasa yoga. We had a wonderful host/guide/yoga teacher all in one - Mai (supported by Ceci). Highly recommend.

Great experience hiking in Mallorca.

Brilliantly hosted by Mai this was a fab few days in the warm October weather. Great fun trekking through beautiful countryside from wind swept rocky hills and peaks, ancient olive groves to the gorgeous blue sea. The treks were well planned allowing time to visit local towns afterwards before returning to our accommodation to stretch out tired muscles with yoga. A great group of fun, supportive people who got on really well and had lots of laughs. Delicious food. Great accommodation in a restored farmhouse set in the hills.

Great experience

Beautiful views of Mallorca. Great hiking experience. Our tour guide Mai was exceptionally talented and good at her job. She made the tour 👌

Truly Magical Adventure

I couldn't recommend this trip more. Mai was an amazing guide, the group of travelers was collegial, and the accommodations were truly special and "off the beaten path. " I've been on tours with other operators that select rather generic places to stay, and this was the complete opposite. Book this asap!

Just returned from the Hiking

Just returned from the Hiking and Yoga trip in Mallorca (June 2025) – an absolutely incredible experience! Mai, our guide, was exceptional – she took such great care of us throughout, leading the hikes with calm confidence, sharing fascinating insights into the local history and vegetation, and doing it all with warmth, positivity and a great sense of humour.

The hikes themselves were beautifully chosen – the perfect length to leave you feeling challenged but accomplished by the end of each day. The yoga sessions were equally brilliant. Mai is a truly gifted teacher, bringing a kind and grounding energy to every practice that really shone through.

The accommodation felt like a luxury villa – peaceful, comfortable, and beautifully designed. And the food… absolutely outstanding. Every meal was restaurant quality – a genuine highlight of the trip. The people/group was also terrific and we felt like a family by the end!

Already looking forward to the next adventure. Huge thanks and appreciation to Mai – please keep doing what you’re doing! James

A wonderful experience

I had the most amazing trip with huge thanks to our wonderful hosts Aina and Mai. I travelled solo and would really recommend this - it's a great opportunity to meet new people and throw yourself into the experience. The hikes, yoga, accommodation and food all exceeded my expectations. I hope you have a great time!

Excellent week

This trip was brilliant. It was really well organised, well structured and just the right length for me.

The accommodation was excellent - beautiful guest house, wonderful yoga space (the bird were so vocal!), lovely pool (which we got to use each afternoon after the walks).

We had a scrummy breakfast each morning (its a buffet that includes fresh fruit, breads, meats / cheeses, fresh juice, cereal and pastries).

Dinners were cooked by a private chef - really lovely tasty 3 course meals - he really cared about food!! (A few photos added - but all the meals were nice!)

The walks were great

Day 1 - a bit slow paced for me but by the end of the week i was glad we did this one slower as i was a bit tired come day 4 (not the fittest!)

Day 2 - beautiful view (see video) -well worth the walk!!! this was such a brilliant walk!! Not easy but we all coped well!! It was the best as each peak was so different making the day so enjoyable!

Day 3 - beautiful relaxed day……. it was hard going for the first little bit (loose stone, no shade, hot day) but once we hit the trees it just got so beautiful!! I Loved swimming in our own little cove!! The end of this walk includes free time - my advice is - spend less time at the beach and go explore the village - its stunning!! (See photos)

Day 4 - this was a nice handover day - Soller is pretty and has a free Picasso exhibition! If you have time to kill before your flight home - consider getting the cute train from Soller to Palma - its 1 hour and about €25 but looked beautiful !

This was a brilliant holiday - our guide Mai was just THE nicest person!! She really cared, kept us safe, her yoga was great (nice addition to the walks) and she really made the adventure!!

I’m already planning my next trip with Much Better Adventures

Fantastic trip

My first trip with MBA was a great experience - the hiking each day was just as described and the accompanying yoga sessions were perfect to stretch out. Being a small group of just 7, Mai was a solo guide and she was superb - an excellent mountain guide and yoga teacher combined, she was really friendly, relaxed, well organised, everything you could hope for in a tour leader. The accommodation was lovely - the rooms, meals, pool etc were great and the setting was beautiful.

A wonderful trip with Mai

This was my first trip with this company and I didn’t know what to expect. Our tour guide, bus driver and yoga teacher Mai was amazing along with everyone else in our small group of 7 people. I sprung my ankle a few days before the trip and was worried this would be an issue. Mai was very understanding and luckily I healed enough to keep with the pace of the 3 days hike. Each day was a different adventure with the first being an easier warm up hike (4 hours), follow by climbing 3 peaks on day 2 (challenging yet rewarding) and ending with a beautiful coastal hike on the last day. The moderate difficulty level was just the right amount for me and the length of the trip was perfect. The accommodation was quiet, secluded and charming. The staff was all very nice and we had a private chef cooking our dinners. From the buffet breakfast to 3 course dinners, we ate very well. Overall, I had a wonderful time ok this trip and I would definitely recommend it!

Hiking & Yoga Adventure in Beautiful Majorca - Gals on Tour

This was a great trip that offered something different and was enjoyed by all our party. Mai, our hiking and yoga instructor, was really great and good fun to be around, as well as a good instructor who made sure we got the best out of our hiking trips and yoga sessions. The accommodation offered a rustic retreat in the countryside, away from the stresses of everyday life, and it had a lovely swimming pool to relax at. The food was good, made daily using fresh organic produce, but there was no choice of courses for the evening meal. That was not really an issue for me, but I did notice that no quality/more expensive cuts of meat, such as steak or lamb, featured in the meals, which was a bit surprising as the holiday was rather expensive.

Top notch organisation, super enjoyable trip.

Mai and aina were wonderful guides. Good knowledge of the local area, really fun and enthusiastic and catered for all the varying abilities. Accomodation was excellent and the food by armando was even better! Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would recommend for anyone wanting a solo adventure.

Brilliant Trip

A was part of a group of seven ladies. The trip was amazing. Our guide Mai, was brilliant, very organised, knowledgeable, considerate and easy to get on with. I couldn’t rate her highly enough. The accommodation was very nice, however given the cost of the excursion I feel we shouldn’t have had to pay if we wanted our towels or bedding changed more than once every 4 days. The food was lovely also, perhaps there could have been better cuts of meat included. The location was fabulous, gorgeous views and a very memorable trip. I would definitely recommend.

This was my first trip with Much Better Adventures and I was nervous about the group (as I’ve done group trips with different companies and if the group isn’t good the overall trip is less enjoyable). This trip was amazing from the group perspective but also the hikes and yoga were such a good way to push me into something new, and the accommodation was lovely, with a private chef for dinner every day! The hiking was challenging, especially the second day of hiking, but the views were so worth it. Aina and Mai, our guides, were wonderful and always checking up on us during the hikes and yoga. I wish this trip was longer! I’ll be booking another trip with this company for sure!

I was very disappointed to have booked a twin room only to find I had to share a bed with my friend. The manager was not interested in our situation and made it clear there was nothing they could do blaming it on much better adventures. This affected my holiday in terms of not allowing me to fully rest and get the sleep I needed to enjoy my holiday. I paid a lot of money for this holiday and wouldn't recommend this company.

Reply from Much Better Adventures  (12 November 2024)

We are sorry to hear of the issues experienced with the hotel management and the lack of available twin bedrooms on this date. The host in Mallorca has rectified this problem by switching to an alternative hotel base for this trip in 2025. All future groups will now stay at ‘Can Torna Agroturismo’, a traditional rural property with all of the amenities needed to accommodate groups comfortably.

Algueria Blanca was in a beautiful setting at the foot of the mountains. A tranquil setting for the yoga, sitting by the pool or on your individual terrace. I loved all the individual potted plants and flowers dotted around the hotel. Aina and Midori were really fantastic as guides, thoughtful, knowledgeable and great company. Tara the yoga teacher was serene and pitched the classes perfectly for the group. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and it was a pleasure to enjoy them on the sunny terrace. It was my first time doing an organised group holiday and I really enjoyed every minute. It was so well organised and I would definitely recommend this trip.

The best adventure

This was my first experience of MuchBetterAdventures, joining a group hiking/ yoga holiday, also my first time visiting Mallorca. In every way this holiday exceeded my expectations and from start to finish was one of the most enjoyable experiences in have had in recent years. The accommodation was stunning, the organised hikes and yoga were very well run. The hike leaders were very friendly and inclusive. Although i was the oldest person in the group ( in my 60's) I felt safe and relaxed the whole time. I'm already planning my next trip!

Today's route begins in the town of Valldemossa, ascending the GR221 trail – known as the Coma des Cairats (the Archduke Trail). Hike through this area of rugged, forested landscapes past the refuge until the Puig de Gros summit. You'll continue on to Puig Caragoli with stunning views towards the North Coast and the community of Deià. Begin the descent along the Cami del Arxiduc all the way back to Valldemossa, where you will try the traditional coca de patata – a tasty local recipe of flour, gourd and potato baked in ball shapes (and a carefully guarded secret of the bakers here!). Head back to the agroturismo for an evening yoga session to stretch out your limbs post-hike, then wind down among the peaceful gardens and enjoy another delicious dinner taken late in the day – Spanish style.

Descend to a hill linking up to the final summit of the trilogy: Puig de l'Ofre at 1093m. The view from the summit is an incredible 360º panorama of the whole island. Tuck into a picnic lunch here and then take the GR trail back to the road. Head back to your tranquil agroturismo for another excellent dinner and a well-earned sleep after the biggest hike of the trip.

Today's route is a real classic of the Tramuntana, linking two of northern Mallorca's most iconic places: Port de Soller, a laidback and beautiful harbour town, and Deia – a stunningly situated artistic village nestled between the mountains and the coast, with bohemian feel. Starting from the lighthouse overlooking Port de Soller with cracking views over the Mediterranean, you'll follow the GR221, cutting slightly inland with incredible views of the higher peaks of the Tramuntana while you skirt the coast. As you get closer to Deia you'll pick up Camí des Pintors (the 'Painters Trail') – aptly named with a nod to the area's artistic leanings. This trail leads to a coastal path which offers gorgeous vistas over the sea before reaching the serene Cala de Deià and a dreamy swim spot as a reward for your hiking efforts today. In the afternoon you'll explore Deia itself, and see why the village inspired countless artists over the years, with time for a drink and snack in one of the artisan cafes and restaurants. Return for an evening of meditative yoga with another session in the grounds of the agroturismo, before enjoying a final dinner together and bedding down for the night.

Rise early today for a sunrise yoga session, taking to the mat one last time with your instructor for a restorative start to your final morning of the trip. Soak up the last of the dreamy agroturismo, grab a swim and enjoy breakfast before heading off to visit the lovely town of Soller – the town attached to the port you were overlooking yesterday from the lighthouse. Soller is a picturesque spot known for its beautiful landscapes, traditional architecture, and a solid connection to nature and local culture; a visit here is a quintessential Mallorcan experience. Take a stroll through its charming streets and maybe pick up some treats from shops selling fresh produce from the surrounding orange groves. Your host will then transfer you back to the airport in Palma de Mallorca for your onward flight home.

*Note: if you have a flight in the morning or early afternoon, you can head straight to the airport from the agroturismo and skip the visit to Soller.

FAQs

This trip originally launched in 2023, using a different hotel in a different part of the Tramuntana. In 2025 we switched the accommodation to an improved base for the trip at Can Torna, offering a more exclusive experience away from other travellers, and giving the trip a more premium retreat vibe with exceptional food on offer at Can Torna. For 2026 we have added a lunch and continued to refine and elevate the food offered on the trip, ultimately leading to the trip being included in our new Premium Collection. These changes enhance the overall experience and are reflected in the price. Since the core itinerary and local host remains largely the same, we’ve kept the original reviews, which still reflect the essence of the trip.

Absolutely not! This is far from a standard yoga retreat. Don't expect to follow a rigid and strict activity schedule or a restrictive detoxing diet. This adventure was designed for people who practice and love yoga, or who are just curious about it and want to experience the amazing benefits it brings for the first time. But it’s also fun, with plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding nature trails on foot, and enjoy delicious food and wine, all in the company of like-minded people. Relaxing and not taking yourself too seriously is kind of mandatory here!

The sessions will be based around Ashtanga – a dynamic form of yoga characterised by a fixed sequence of postures which are performed in a specific order, with a focus on breath coordination and movement. Your experienced instructor will guide you through the sessions and combine the yoga with guided meditations to complement the body and mind elements of the practice. Ideal for relaxing after a hike, and to recover the body and energy for the next day.

The drinking water in Mallorca is perfectly safe to drink. You should fill up a reusable bottle or two from the agroturismo each morning before heading out for that day's hiking.

This is a centre-based trip, so your luggage will remain with you in your room at the agriturismo for the duration of the trip.

There are plentiful flights into Mallorca, so in the event your flight is cancelled, your airline will arrange alternative transport and your host will adjust your collection time from the airport.

If bad weather affects any of the hiking routes in the higher part of the Serra de Tramuntana, your host will deviate to a more sheltered part of the island for an alternative hike.

No. You'll need to have a larger bag suitable for all your belongings which will be transported for you, and then a small daysack to carry personal items during each day of hiking.

At Much Better Adventures, we work hard to accommodate dietary requirements and allergies so your trip is safe, inclusive and enjoyable. That said, options can vary by country, location and accommodation, and in some places options may be limited or unavailable. The information below has been provided by your host so you’re fully informed about what will be possible on your trip depending on your individual requirements. This information should be read carefully prior to your trip to ensure that you are adequately prepared for the situation ‘on the ground’.

Once you have booked on your trip, please fill out your passenger information form asap with any dietary requirements. Once you complete your passenger information, your dietary needs and any allergies are automatically shared with your host and, in turn, your guide. Please submit this as early as possible so they can plan accordingly and deliver the best experience. Please also remind your guide about your dietary requirements upon arrival, as mentioning these in person allows your guide to comprehend individual preferences and limitations as soon as you arrive.

BACKGROUND

Spain’s cuisine is shaped by a mix of Mediterranean agriculture, regional climates and a long history of trade and cultural exchange, resulting in varied, seasonal dishes that often centre on olive oil, vegetables, seafood and cured meats. This diversity means travellers with dietary requirements can often find suitable options, particularly in larger towns, though menus can be meat- and dairy-heavy in some regions. Vegetarian and gluten-free choices are increasingly understood, but it helps to plan ahead and communicate needs clearly, with a guide on hand to assist where language or local customs present challenges.

SPECIAL DIETS

Vegetarian Vegetarian diets can be catered for on this trip, provided that your host is made aware in advance.

Vegan Vegan diets can be catered for on this trip, provided that your host is made aware in advance.

Kosher Fully certified Kosher kitchens and supervision are rare and usually cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in advance by your host. Vegetarian or vegan options can often be the most reliable alternative if this is acceptable to you. Please read the related sections above.

Halal Certified Halal supply varies by destination and may not always be possible. Vegetarian or vegan options can often be the most reliable alternative if this is acceptable to you. Please read the related sections above.

INTOLERANCES

Gluten Free (for Coeliac, please see Allergies section below) Gluten-free diets can be catered for on this trip, provided that your host is made aware in advance.

Lactose-free Lactose-free diets can be catered for on this trip, provided that your host is made aware in advance.

ALLERGIES

Our host has confirmed that they are able to accommodate mild allergies to the 14 allergens identified by the UK Food Standards Agency, where these are disclosed in advance. However, if you have a severe or life-threatening food allergy, please get in touch with our Customer Experience team prior to booking to discuss whether your requirements can be accommodated safely on this trip. This will allow us to carefully consider the sensitivity and severity of your allergy, the available provision on the trip and the accessibility of medical care should a reaction occur. Your safety is always our top priority.

Please note that when travelling overseas, local ingredients, food preparation methods and labelling standards may vary, particularly in remote areas. It is also worth noting that any allergies may result in more limited options and repetitive provision in some areas. Whilst your guide will help communicate dietary requirements where possible, customers remain responsible for managing their own allergies during the trip.

Sure can! Over 70% of our travellers travel solo, it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.

Our team of Adventure Hunters co-create exclusive adventures which are run by highly vetted, specialist hosts. The trip is run by our trusted host partner in the destination. We only work with independent, local, in-destination experts who know the very best places to explore and how to stay safe. Read more information about the local teams we partner with. You’ll be introduced to the host straight after making a booking via the Much Better Adventures platform.

Much Better Adventures refer to the UK Government’s official travel advice when designing trips and monitoring trip operations. We recommend that all customers are familiar with the practical information provided on the Government’s FCDO website, where current travel advice can be found by searching for the applicable destination(s).

For customers joining this trip from other international destinations – please also read the official travel advice applicable to your country of residence/origin, as this may differ.

We recommend checking out the country-specific information and also talking to a travel nurse.

We automatically convert prices from the local currency that a host receives to your chosen currency. We update our exchange rates on a daily basis so this does mean that prices displayed on the site are subject to currency fluctuations, which is why you may see them change over time.

If you wish to change the currency you pay in, head to the bottom of the page.

All of our group adventures are specially designed for adults to enjoy as we want these adventures to bring together outdoorsy people who are truly like-minded. You must be over 18 to join one of our trips.

You're always in good company on one of our adventures.

Our trips are typically made up of a mixture of solo travellers and small groups of 2 or 3 friends, with most in their 30s-50s.

Our sociable adventures are solo-friendly by design and naturally attract outdoorsy people with a shared mindset; a love for adventure, a desire to push themselves and meet awesome, like-minded people along the way. Check out our Community Values – a shared code to make sure that everyone's experience is safe, inclusive and brilliantly unforgettable.

It’s this camaraderie that has so often turned a great adventure into a life-changing one.

Don't just take our word for it:

  • 95% of people rate the group dynamics on our trips 5/5
  • 90% of people recommend joining a trip to make new friends
  • 75% of people have met people on our trips that they would now consider friends

Mallorca has a typically Mediterranean climate and is usually lovely and warm. During April in the Tramuntana region you can expect temperatures of around 18-20°C (64-68°F), with lows of between 9-12°C (48-54°F). April is considered a transitional month, with mild temperatures and the possibility of occasional rain showers. Spring is underway, and the landscape starts to turn greener.

In May and October, the average highs range from 21-24°C (70-75°F), and the lows around 12-15°C (54-59°F). There is less rainfall in May and the region becomes even more lush and vibrant, while October marks the transition into autumn with lower temperatures towards the end of the month. September is a great time to visit as the weather is still warm, but the intense heat of summer has subsided, with average highs of 25-28°C (77-82°F), and lows of 17-20°C (63-68°F).

The sometimes uncomfortably high temperatures and greater tourist numbers in July and August make this a less desirable time to visit Mallorca, so we are not running group departures during this period (if you are interested in a private booking during July and August, please feel free to enquire as this can be accommodated, subject to availability).

We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity.

What's the number?
It works out on average at 108kg of CO2 emissions per person, including all local transport, accommodation, food, activities, guides, staff and office operations.

The only thing it doesn’t include right now is flights and travel to the destination. We do make an overall estimate across all our customers separately, but as we don’t book flights, have customers from all corners of the world, and no way of reliably knowing their travel plans, we simply can’t include an individual number in the figure on display here. We’ve got a goal to fix that, so that when you book, there is a way to measure and mitigate the carbon emitted by your flight too.

But what does the number mean?
Yep, hard to picture eh? To give you an idea:

  • Driving 1000 miles/1609km would be approximately 281kg of CO2 in an average car (or 140.5kg per person, if there were two of you in it).
  • A return economy class flight between London and New York would be approximately 1619kg (1.66 tonnes) per person.
  • 10 trees in a temperate forest are estimated to remove approximately 250kg of CO2 from the air in a period of 5-10 years.

What are we doing about it?
Our trips are relatively low-carbon by design, and we're working with all our hosts to develop long term carbon reduction plans. We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity, ensuring the protection of the reserve and its wildlife.

Want to know more?
Amazingly, no international travel company has ever publicly published their carbon measurements before, as far as we know. We believe that must change, quickly. So we’re openly sharing the method we used in the hope that other companies will be able to more easily follow suit and build on what we've done so far. You'll find it all here.
