FEEL GOOD VIBES
You'll be met at the airport by your host and transferred 3-4 hours to your accommodation on the banks of the Piva River.
Settle into your cabin in a beech forest and wander along the river. This is your home for the next three days!
Relax around a campfire, listen to the babbling river, and socialize with your fellow adventurers while a cook prepares your dinner.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast on the river's shore, then take a short shuttle ride to the launch point at Brstanovica.
Review safety and equipment with your guides, then jump in and begin a scenic paddle down the mighty Tara River. You'll navigate 18km of flat water and exciting rapids with amazing natural beauty all around you.
Return to base for a well-deserved lunch, and spend the afternoon relaxing in the sun.
In the evening you'll enjoy another delicious dinner while sharing stories around the campfire.
Refuel with a fresh breakfast, then drive to the beautiful village of Poscenje.
From the village you'll embark on a 3-4 hour adventure in Nevidio Canyon, one of the least explored canyons in Europe. You'll slide, jump, wade, splash and crawl through a wonderland of water, rock and lush vegetation.
Emerge for lunch at a local restaurant, then drive to nearby Zabljak ("Black") Lake for the afternoon. Explore the surrounding forests, swim in the glacial lake (brr!) or simply relax and enjoy the view of limestone mountains.
When you've had your fill of adventure, you'll spend tonight in a hotel in nearby Zabljak.
Linger over breakfast and then it's time for your transfer to Podgorica Airport for your flight home.
Note: This itinerary and the duration of the activities are subject to change due to group abilities and preferences, weather conditions and forecasts, special events, etc.
All our adventures take place in wild places. Things can go wrong in wild places. Your perfectly planned itinerary may change a bit (or a lot) if the weather turns, someone gets hurt, or a volcano erupts. Usually though, changes make it all the better.
Your base is nestled in the shade of beech trees on the banks of the river Piva near the Bosnia Herzegovina border. The camp was purpose-built in 2015 by your hosts in harmony with the natural riverside settings. You'll be staying in 1 of 7 new wooden bungalows, or in 1 of 8 twin bedrooms in the main building.
Each of the cabins exhibits the rustic charm of Montenegrin pioneer cabins, with the addition of a few contemporary comforts like private baths, hot water and comfy beds. Some bungalows have 2, 3 or 4 single beds, while others have double beds and are more suitable for couples.
To maximise your time canyoning for your final night you will be staying in a great hotel in Zabljak, most likely in Hotel Zlatni Bor or similar.
Northwestern Montenegro has not yet been discovered by much of the world, but is rightly acclaimed and protected as a World Heritage Area. It was formed by glaciers and is traversed by rivers and underground streams, leaving a dramatic landscape marked by dense pine forests, clear lakes, limestone plateaus and deep canyons.
The area is home to 1500 species of plants; large mammals including the brown bear, grey wolf, European wildcat and river otter; and 130 recorded birds including the Golden Eagle, Short-toed Eagle, Honey Buzzard, Peregrine Falcon, Capercaillie and Black Grouse.
The Tara canyon is the deepest and longest in Europe, cutting through dramatic limestone cliffs. The 2009 World Rafting Championships took place here. There are rocky and pebbly terraces, sandy beaches, high cliffs, and more than 80 large caves along the canyon. The Tara River is so pure you can drink it straight from the raft!
Your canyoning trip starts in Poscenje, one of the most beautiful villages in Montenegro with two glacial lakes and an amazing 70m waterfall. Your first encounter with Nevidio Canyon will take your breath away and set the tone for the day, as the Komarnica River suddenly disappears into the strangely carved entrance.
You will be met at Dubrovnik Airport (DBV). Your transfer will meet all flights scheduled to land by 16:25 or earlier.
Dubrovnik and Podgorica Airports are served by regular, inexpensive flights. You can get any flight that suits you, but make sure they fit the times above to take advantage of the included transfers.
You will be dropped at Podogorica Airport (TGD). You are free to book any flight that departs at 11:00 on later.
