First day, first waves

Easy day

Accommodation Type

Apartment in Taghazout town

Meet your host in Agadir and then drive to the legendary surf hot spot of Taghazout.

Settle in, grab some lunch on the terrace and then head to the beach for your first lesson.

Enjoy some epic surf and then catch the last wave in before the sun sets and return to Taghazout for sundowners and dinner with an ocean view.

Day 2-5

Surf, sleep, surf, repeat

On the Water

Approx. 4-6 hours on the water

Accommodation Type

Apartment in Taghazout town

Filling breakfasts and delicious lunches

Take breakfast on the terrace each morning and then head out to another legendary local surf spot. Your host will drive you to the best beach for the day’s conditions so you always have prime waves to catch.

Practice all morning in sparkling blue water backed by vivid red hills. Fuelled by groundswells in the north Atlantic these waves travel thousands of miles to produce the conditions Taghazout is famous for – from sandy-bottomed beginners’ waves, to long, glassy point breaks.

After a picnic lunch on the beach (and maybe a nap in the shade) paddle back out for some more surf. Then as the sun gets lower in the sky head back to your apartment to shower off the salt.

Stretch out your muscles with an optional sunset yoga session, then explore the town and have dinner in one of Taghazout’s many excellent restaurants.

Day 6

Last day in surfing paradise

On the Water

Approx. 4-6 hours on the water

Filling breakfast and a delicious lunch

Linger over another delicious breakfast, hone your skills with a final morning lesson and then spend the afternoon carving some glassy waves as you admire the postcard-perfect Moroccan landscape.

Then, after catching a last ride back into the beach it’s time to clean up and catch your flight home.

Please Note

All our adventures take place in wild places. Things can go wrong in wild places. Your perfectly planned itinerary may change a bit (or a lot) if the weather turns, someone gets hurt, or a volcano erupts. Usually though, changes make it all the better.

Breakfasts are traditional Moroccan pancakes, served with jam and butter, accompanied by freshly baked French baguettes, egg, coffee and tea. Packed lunches include sandwiches or salads, soda, biscuits and fruit.

There are plenty of restaurants in town serving inexpensive and delicious Moroccan and international food (including some great couscous and tagines.) Three times a week your host also organises a group dinner at the Surf Camp for anyone who wants to join.

Vegetarian and vegan diets can be accommodated, just make a request when booking.

There is a huge variety of surf in this area of Morocco all year round - from mellow beginner waves, to challenging reef ledges. Due to the varied nature of the coastline there is almost always somewhere sheltered and manageable, but those looking for a challenge won’t be disappointed either.

Each morning will start with a surf lesson where you’ll learn the proper stance, how to paddle, turn, pop up and keep your speed, as well as surf etiquette, safety and how to read the beach (waves, rips and currents.) After that you’re free to enjoy the waves for the rest of the day

Taghazout is primarily a surfing destination, however, there are still plenty of other things to do. You can hike in Paradise Valley, go on a camel ride, experience a hammam, practice your yoga, or shop in the souks to name just a few.Your host can help you arrange all sorts of quality day trips. The sea will be waiting for you when you’re rested and ready for more surfing.

With more than 300 days of sunshine, Morocco is a year-round destination and you’re unlikely to encounter rain. The summer months see warm temperatures (air 20 – 30 °C; sea 18 – 21 °C) and small to medium swells. Winter months have cooler but very pleasant temperatures (air 18 – 26 °C; sea 16 – 20 °C) and the biggest waves.
