Brilliant Day

A fantastic day with a brilliant guide, Ryan kept us going with a pace that worked for everyone and his local knowledge.

Amazing!

An absolutely brilliant day from start to finish! The entire experience with Much Better Adventures was super smooth and incredibly slick. Our guides, Jim and Tom, were fabulous—not only was their knowledge of the area top-notch, but they also took great care of us throughout the challenge. The equipment (bikes and kayaks) was high-quality and well-maintained, and the food was surprisingly enjoyable. An amazing trip that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a seamless Snowdonia adventure!

Great - but room for improvement

Hotel lovely, guides lovely and good kit. Lunch lovely, routes lovely - a really super day. One member of the team could do with bushing up on their interpersonal skills.

Snowdon Challenge

We were lucky to have lovely weather as the day before it was non stop rain. Our guides Conor and Larry were fab. They stayed with us on the cycle and up and down the mountain. Patient and helpful all the time. It was a great challenge to do the 3 activities in one day. A good challenge to do with good friends. The communication before and after was not brilliant and the welcome briefing was not welcoming or informative which was a shame as didn’t give a good impression to start the tour.

My friend and I had

My friend and I had a great experience. The hotel was perfectly situated and was a pleasant stay with good food. The experience itself was seamlessly organised with Tom and Jim on hand for all our needs and questions. We had a great group with like minded individuals and groups. If you want to experience the scenery and routes with some assistance then I highly recommend this adventure!

An unforgettable adventure!
An unforgettable adventure!

We recently climbed Mount Snowdon and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The weather was fabulous and the views were breathtaking. A huge shoutout to our guide, Tom - he was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and a real pleasure to talk to throughout the journey. His passion for the outdoors really shone through and made the whole day even more special.

Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a rewarding adventure in the Welsh mountains.

Will be booking more adventures through MBA!

Brilliant!
Brilliant!

What a wonderful experience! So we were a group of three and there were seven in our group altogether, led by the wonderful and very knowledgeable Tom. Everything went so well. The bikes and helmets we used to start with were in excellent shape, we used a quiet route for our walk to the submit of Snowdon which was lovely. As expected it was a bit busy at the top but it wasn’t a problem. Our walk down using a different path was good and we finished back by our hotel. The kayaking was a lovely way to finish the day and we could all cool off. The weather was perfect! We had sunshine for the whole day which meant the views were spectacular. A great group, a great leader, great weather, great location, GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Finn G.(May 2025)
The whole trip was really

The whole trip was really well organised and it was great not having to think about any logistics although personally would hav switched order and had the hike up Snowdon at the end. It was great being taken up and down Snowdon via different paths- and the route up a much quieter one than the main route. In hindsight didn't really need a guide as the path is very clear. The main issue was the kayaking at the end felt like a bit of an add on- we barely did any kayaking because of the wind and there were no 'bubbles at the finish line' as advertised so the end felt a bit anticlimactic. We drove to avoid rail replacement hell on the bank holiday so didn't need the pick up from Bangor but that did make it feel quite expensive for what we got.

Thank you for your review about your recent Snowdonia trip. We are pleased to hear that you found it well organised. However, we are sorry that the overall experience was not quite what you were expecting.

We understand from your host that the kayaking for this group was affected by some very windy and cold weather, and it made for some very difficult paddling conditions, so the decision was made to curtail the activity. Occasionally, in this type of situation, our groups are taken to a sheltered river section to do the paddling. Unfortunately, that area is closed at the moment due to fish spawning, so this was not an option for your group.

Whilst our host has confirmed that fizz is always available at the finish line, they have found that our groups seem to enjoy a celebratory drink at the hotel instead. We have reworded the trip page to set expectations more clearly for future travellers.

Once again, we are sorry that the experience wasn’t what you hoped for, and we really appreciate your feedback. We hope to be able to welcome you on another MBA trip in the future. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer experience team on hello@muchbetteradventures.com if you have any further comments.

Where to begin.arrived at the hotel the night before, very friendly staff, unfortunately arrived late,so missed the team talk out the front, which was a shame because we could have introduced ourselves to everyone for a while before going to bed.went down about 7 to a nice fried breakfast to set us up for the day.met up with everyone 8.15.they had all the bikes ready for us.there were 3 guides,Jim who moved all of the equipment and any gear we needed for the day from our start Finish points, and ewan and kat who would look after us.off we went on our bike ride,it was a lovely route, which was a mixture of road and cycle paths.nobody was pushed to rush along and the ride was very pleasant.there was one Hill which was quite steep, but they stressed to everyone to get off and walk if you need to,which a few of us did, including myself. I just couldn't quite make it to the top.got to the next point where Jim met us to take the bikes and get ready for the walk.they gave us plenty of snacks to eat and take up the mountain.we were there about 20 minutes or so,and then we were off.the views were amazing and the weather was perfect.we had a couple of short breaks on the way up to regroup and kat and ewan kept an eye on us the whole way.they encouraged us when we needed it,which was a few times for me.gets quite cold at the top so take a few layers you can take on and off as you go.there was a big visitor centre at the top ,so we all got in there and had a bit to eat and drink.we went up the ranger track which is moderately hard, but came down a much easier trail, which was very welcome. I think it took us about 5.45 hours to complete. Got to the bottom and strolled over to where we did our kayaking. It was lovely to have a little paddle around with everyone, and a perfect end to our amazing day.would thoroughly recommend to anyone.made some amazing friends, and I'm looking forward to my next adventure.

What a way to climb Snowdon!!!!! I enjoyed it a lot more then my other half.

I would definitely practice cycling up hills before hand as the one you cycle up goes on forever.

Theres no pressure to be quick. They had two guides - one for the fast group and one for the slower group. There was two of us in the slow group so we did miss all the group dynamics....but actually, we didnt mind that at all!

Our guide was Mark. He was great, encouraging and dropped in lots of handy tips to make sure we looked after ourselves along the way. We didnt think we'd make it to the summit but with Marks help, we got to the top. He was brilliant!!!

Be prepared. The ranger path is harder then we thought. It starts off with a steep zigzag, which is definitely made a lot more challenging doing it straight after the bike ride.

A great day! Our muscles are very sore and we can barely move but we have taken away many funny memories!!!

First experience with the company.

First experience with the company. Disappointed to say the least. I do appreciate that participants have different levels of ability and fitness, but the company obviously do not cater for this. I also felt that the organisation and leadership was poor. Sadly due to this first time experience I shan't be using the company again. Lost faith very rapidly. Possibly have been spoilt in the past with excellent organisation by other adventure companies.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review regarding a few issues that you experienced on this trip.

On this trip, we generally have 2 guides accompanying the group, and in addition we have a support driver/guide on call throughout the day who can also provide assistance wherever necessary. We believe that this gives us plenty of flexibility to manage the group as best we can according to various abilities and preferences.

Great experience and organisation

Well worth making the trip to Snowdon for! MBA team really put everyone at ease, made it feel fun and led the day absolutely seamlessly. Guides are all outdoors enthusiasts and felt very well looked after in their hands. If you do this trip, go up the afternoon before and do the 2 hour walk around Llyn Padarn - splendid views of the lake and valley. I certainly couldn’t be more impressed with MBA and already looking at future trips!

At Much Better Adventures, we work hard to accommodate dietary requirements and allergies so your trip is safe, inclusive and enjoyable. That said, options can vary by country, location and accommodation, and in some places options may be limited or unavailable. The information below has been provided by your host so you’re fully informed about what will be possible on your trip depending on your individual requirements. This information should be read carefully prior to your trip to ensure that you are adequately prepared for the situation ‘on the ground’.

Once you have booked on your trip, please fill out your passenger information form asap with any dietary requirements. Once you complete your passenger information, your dietary needs and any allergies are automatically shared with your host and, in turn, your guide. Please submit this as early as possible so they can plan accordingly and deliver the best experience. Please also remind your guide about your dietary requirements upon arrival, as mentioning these in person allows your guide to comprehend individual preferences and limitations as soon as you arrive.

BACKGROUND

British cuisine reflects a long history of regional, home-grown cooking shaped by a cool climate, mixed farming and a strong tradition of hearty, comforting meals. In recent decades, however, it has been transformed by global influences and a growing awareness of health and sustainability, leading to far greater variety and flexibility. As a result, the UK is generally very well suited to travellers with dietary requirements, with vegetarian, vegan, lactose and gluten-free and allergen-aware options widely available. Clear labelling, high food-safety standards and familiarity with special diets mean that most restaurants and accommodation providers can cater confidently, making it one of the easier destinations for those with specific dietary needs. Breakfast on this trip is buffet style at the hotel, packed lunches can be tailored to individuals with dietary requirements, and dinner can be selected individually too from one of the many restaurants in Llanberis.

SPECIAL DIETS

Vegetarian -Vegetarian diets can be catered for on this trip, provided that your host is made aware in advance.

Vegan -Vegan diets can be catered for on this trip, provided that your host is made aware in advance.

Kosher -Fully certified Kosher kitchens and supervision are rare and usually cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in advance by your host. Vegetarian or vegan options can often be the most reliable alternative if this is acceptable to you. Please read the related sections above.

Halal -Certified Halal supply varies by location and may not always be possible. Vegetarian or vegan options can often be the most reliable alternative if this is acceptable to you. Please read the related sections above.

INTOLERANCES

Gluten Free (for Coeliac, please see Allergies section below) -Gluten-free diets can be catered for on this trip, provided that your host is made aware in advance.

Lactose Free -Lactose-free diets can be catered for on this trip, provided that your host is made aware in advance.

ALLERGIES

Our host has confirmed that they are able to accommodate mild allergies to the 14 allergens identified by the UK Food Standards Agency, where these are disclosed in advance. However, if you have a severe or life-threatening food allergy, please get in touch with our Customer Experience team prior to booking to discuss whether your requirements can be accommodated safely on this trip. This will allow us to carefully consider the sensitivity and severity of your allergy, the available provision on the trip and the accessibility of medical care should a reaction occur. Your safety is always our top priority. Please note that when travelling overseas, local ingredients, food preparation methods and labelling standards may vary, particularly in remote areas. It is also worth noting that any allergies may result in more limited options and repetitive provision in some areas. Whilst your guide will help communicate dietary requirements where possible, customers remain responsible for managing their own allergies during the trip.

Sure can! Over 70% of our travellers travel solo, it’s a great way to meet like-minded people.

Our team of Adventure Hunters co-create exclusive adventures which are run by highly vetted, specialist hosts. The trip is run by our trusted host partner in the destination. We only work with independent, local, in-destination experts who know the very best places to explore and how to stay safe. Read more information about the local teams we partner with. You’ll be introduced to the host straight after making a booking via the Much Better Adventures platform.

Much Better Adventures refer to the UK Government’s official travel advice when designing trips and monitoring trip operations. We recommend that all customers are familiar with the practical information provided on the Government’s FCDO website, where current travel advice can be found by searching for the applicable destination(s).

For customers joining this trip from other international destinations – please also read the official travel advice applicable to your country of residence/origin, as this may differ.

We recommend checking out the country-specific information and also talking to a travel nurse.

We automatically convert prices from the local currency that a host receives to your chosen currency. We update our exchange rates on a daily basis so this does mean that prices displayed on the site are subject to currency fluctuations, which is why you may see them change over time.

If you wish to change the currency you pay in, head to the bottom of the page.

All of our group adventures are specially designed for adults to enjoy as we want these adventures to bring together outdoorsy people who are truly like-minded. You must be over 18 to join one of our trips.

You're always in good company on one of our adventures.

Our trips are typically made up of a mixture of solo travellers and small groups of 2 or 3 friends, with most in their 30s-50s.

Summers in Llanberis are perfect for athletics because they’re not excessively hot or sunny. Daytime temperatures average a pleasant 19 °C, and nighttime temperatures cool off to 12 °C.

Because of its elevation, weather on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is considerably cooler and more fickle. Temperatures range from 10 – 12 °C during the day, but the skies are clear roughly half the days each month.

We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity.

What's the number?
It works out on average at 29kg of CO2 emissions per person, including all local transport, accommodation, food, activities, guides, staff and office operations.

The only thing it doesn’t include right now is flights and travel to the destination. We do make an overall estimate across all our customers separately, but as we don’t book flights, have customers from all corners of the world, and no way of reliably knowing their travel plans, we simply can’t include an individual number in the figure on display here. We’ve got a goal to fix that, so that when you book, there is a way to measure and mitigate the carbon emitted by your flight too.

But what does the number mean?
Yep, hard to picture eh? To give you an idea:

  • Driving 1000 miles/1609km would be approximately 281kg of CO2 in an average car (or 140.5kg per person, if there were two of you in it).
  • A return economy class flight between London and New York would be approximately 1619kg (1.66 tonnes) per person.
  • 10 trees in a temperate forest are estimated to remove approximately 250kg of CO2 from the air in a period of 5-10 years.

What are we doing about it?
Our trips are relatively low-carbon by design, and we're working with all our hosts to develop long term carbon reduction plans. We partner with the World Land Trust to ensure this trip achieves Net-Zero emissions. We also support their Buy an Acre programme, helping local communities to buy and protect natural habitats in perpetuity, ensuring the protection of the reserve and its wildlife.

Want to know more?
Amazingly, no international travel company has ever publicly published their carbon measurements before, as far as we know. We believe that must change, quickly. So we’re openly sharing the method we used in the hope that other companies will be able to more easily follow suit and build on what we've done so far. You'll find it all here.
